of the Topic: Critical Risks, Problems, and Assumptions on Sports Facility: Running sports facilityfor schoolchildren and college students involves certain risks, problems and assumptions. The risk factors cover up many areas such as chances of injuries for both the participants, audience and the management people. The sports services provided in the Old Northgate Theatres, which had been demolished to carry out the modifications suitable for running the facility. The modules include Baseball, Retail Shop, Wrestling, Weights and Fitness Room, Football, Softball, Basket Ball, and Soccer.

The types of risks are torts, fighting between two parities involved in practice or main match, violence attacks like those that happen in a real match, immunity issues, and sloppy physical examination of the participant before taking part in a sport event etc. The Facility manager carries the most responsible position to tackle the risk factors and arrange a strategic plan to manage the risks either by appointing a physician, or insurance coverage etc. Risks such as baseball foul balls might hit at the audience, a facility owner deserves the responsibility to provide enough screened seats for those who may request them and the most risky part of the facility requests to be monitored.

Spectators might be at big risk of the balls hitting at them, other than this cleaning the floor, providing a safe environment removing slapping hazard, the facility owner should see that the party getting injured should not develops further damages, this is called as assumption of risks.. A facility manager holds the responsibility to set a risk management programme to reduce the possibilities of risks. Assumption of risk is the ability of the participant to understand the general risk of injuries involved in the sport he takes part.

The assumption should be understood legally by the participant, which will act as a “legal defence” [Ray, 2000]. The participant should be able to undertake the activities without paying much attention towards the hazards. Chen & Esposito [2004] observes assumption of risk under two conditions they are “(a) The athlete must fully appreciate and understand the type and magnitude of the risk involved in participation. (b) The athlete must also “knowingly, voluntarily, and unequivocally” choose to participate” Chen & Esposito. [2004].Insurance: There are special types of insurance coverage given for sports facilities such as [1] Accident insurance – in the case of injuries, sever hurts etc, [2].

Equipments Insurance- this is a special insurance coverage given for the sports equipments, which will be provided, to the participants, [3]. General Liability Insurance- accountability insurance fit to cover the problem of risks, which might be developed during a practice, fitness etc., [4]. Sports and Campaigning Insurance – covers the risks involved during a campaign such as a drive or a sports operation etc. Apart from this Sadler [2006] points out to other various insurance coverage suitable for a sports facility such as Softball insurance, football insurance, clinic insurance, baseball insurance, basket ball insurance, participant liability insurance eligible for both small children and grown up children etc.
