This would affect a very vulnerable section of society in particular and the health and well being of the society in general. Hence, this objective to ascertain the confidence levels of the care and support workers and whether training and development could help in bringing about greater motivation by enhancing skill levels, which would provide avenues for career growth and development. The role of the care and support workers has been on the increase. Yet insufficient attention has been paid to ascertaining the actual number of care and support workers, the conditions in which they work, or their training levels and their need for additional training.

In short this measures up to displaying neglect of the care and support workers, who perform diverse roles in their functioning. The diversity of the responsibilities may be the reason for a lack of proper understanding of the condition of the care and support worker and yet it is only by studying this aspect, can the means to develop the care and support worker be found, so that they feel that their role is appreciated. Studies into their skill levels, taking into consideration their functions and the needs of the elements of society that depend on them would give an insight into their training requirements.

In the modern world where there is more and more emphasis on the conditions, skill levels and training and development requirements of any work force. It is necessary that this emphasis is extended to the care and support worker. It is essential that this emphasis be extended to every facet of the care and support worker with adequate focus on under represented areas, as these areas would be those that are facing the maximum feeling of neglect and therefore have the maximum requirement for training and development.
