One of these days on looking through the window I saw a little girl playing with a charming puppy. That moment I have remembered my eighth birthday. What an amazing thing our childhood is! Everything around us seems so magic, fantastic and fine... That year I have got a wonderful puppy. Who has made this excellent present remains a riddle for me. I've heard the melody of our doorbell, and have gone running to open. I've seen a small beautiful box tied in a bow on a threshold. On the top of the box I have seen a happy birthday card. Together with surprised mum I have cautiously opened the box. A real 'miracle' has got out of out of the box. It was a puppy, small and fluffy, as a bear-cub. "Wow! Mum! I've got a puppy now!" I have begun to clap my hands, and have seized the puppy in my hands, "Since today you'll become my favorite toy," I have decided. The puppy has cheerfully barked, but that time I was precisely assured that it talks to me I remember our conversation as if it has been yesterday. "Oh, it is beautiful," the puppy has looked on the bright bow and has touched it by its paw, "but it impede me". "Do not take it off," I have ordered, - "what is your name" "I do not know," the puppy has barked, ridiculously wagging its tiny tail, "does it really matter Let's better play!" "Ok! I will call you, hmm Jacky," I have decided. Then I've changed my mind, "No, I'd better call you Tommy!" "I do not wish to be Tommy," the puppy has turned obstinate, sniffing around furniture in the room. "Tommy!" I have stamped my foot, "Come here!" "You are too strict," the puppy was frightened and has made a puddle on mum's favorite oriental carpet small. "Hey, you little monster," mum has lamented bitterly and have run away to take a rug. "See," I have said and have terribly looked at the puppy, "you, fluffy thing, mum has got into pretty tears because of you! Dogs should piss outside!" From that moment we called our puppy Fluffy. "By the way, Fluffy sounds much better than Tommy!" the puppy has smiled and has seized my slippers, "Let's play!" I have cautiously taken the puppy in my hands and have taken it to my room. "You will be mine little son," I have told and have put the puppy in a small baby carriage, "you sit here, and I shall bring you a dummy." "It's not interesting game!" the puppy has thought, "We'd better to play hide-and-seek." While I have searched for a dummy, the puppy has fallen out of the carriage and has gone 'to see the sights' of his new home. It has come into one of rooms and has stood motionless. Near the bed he has seen a big black animal and looked at the puppy without one wink. "Who are you" the puppy has exclaimed, moving back to be on the safe side, "I am not afraid of you." The black animal was silent. Having grown bolder, the puppy has come closer. "Let's be friends with you," the puppy has cautiously offered. "Mum! Come here!" I have loudly cried, "Fluffy barks at your panther." In the meantime Fluffy has closely come to a mysterious animal. "And why you are silent" the puppy has asked and, having smelt an animal, has touched it with its paw, "How cold you are!" "No! Don't..!" mum has cried, running into the room, but it was too late. The porcelain figure of the panther has swayed, and having hit against the floor has broken in two pieces. "Ah, you silly little thing!" mum has threatened the puppy with the rug. "No I'm not. I am not silly," the puppy have taken an offence, and got under the bed, "I just wished to get acquainted. Forgive me!" it has put out an attractive face, and has there and then got its bitters with a wet rag. "You never do it again!" cried mum. "It hurts," whimpered the puppy, on being hidden just in case, "I did not know that it is forbidden. I promise I'll never do it again." "It should be put in a corner," I have shaken my head, "Let it know that it is very bad to behave outrageously." "And you should be put also," mum has strictly told, "Fluffy is your gift, and you should look after it!" "It's not just mine," I have whimsically pursed my lips, "and it is disobedient. It does not want to play with me." "Do not come into the bedroom any more," mum has asked, "Play in your room." "Ok!" I have answered and gone to my room. "And what about the puppy" mum was surprised. "I have sighed", Fluffy, get out! "No rag" the puppy was scared. "Come on," I have ordered. "It seems like no rag," the puppy has thought, getting out from under the bed. "We are friends, aren't we!" In the room, I have put the lead on its neck and have tied it to the back of a chair. Then I have fenced the chair with two pillows from the sofa, and have covered all this strange construction with a blanket. "It is my small house," I learned the puppy, "I shall go shopping, and you should guard it." And I have left to the kitchen. From there one may feel very tasty smells. The puppy has got agitated. "And what about me," it cried, jumping near the chair, "take me with me, please. It smells so good, I am hungry." The chair has reeled, pillows got down, and the lead at last was untied. The released puppy has rushed to the kitchen. I was helping mum to prepare the meal. She cut tasty sausage in thin slices, and I laid the table. "Could you please give just one slice," - the puppy asked, dancing on its back paws, "Well please Please!" Having seen the puppy, I throw up my hands, "Mum, it has come untied. You see, it does not listen to me at all!" "Come, take your place," mum has shouted. "What place" the puppy was surprised, "My place is next to you. We are friends, aren't we" "Fluffy, I shall punish you," I have shaken my fist at the puppy, "Just go and guard our small house!" "And what about the sausage" the puppy was upset, "Please, gives me a tiny bit!" "Well! Stop barking," mum has become angry, "give it a piece of sausage, but in the corridor, do not accustom it to beg." Fluffy has swallowed small slice of sausage in a flash and has asked for more. "That's enough," I have declared, "You have to gain food. And you do not wish to guard our house." "Still I am small," sniffed the puppy, "I am not a watchdog. Please, give me something else to eat and let's play. I shall learn to be the most faithful watchdog, you'll see." But I have made the other decision: "If you do not wish to play my games then sit in the corridor," and I have closed the door of the room. This night the puppy has lead on a carpet. It couldn't fall asleep sleep. It was laying and peering into the darkness. "Still I am just a small puppy and do not know much, therefore I make silly things, for which they punish me," the puppy was probably thinking, "Yes, I am guilty. I have broken that strange black animal and did not guard our small house, but everything is going to be just fine, and we shall become great friends. They all are very kind. And tomorrow they for certain will give me three slices of sausage. No, they'll give me four," the puppy was lost in day-dreams, "and we will play all day long. It is interesting, whether I shall ever see that person, who has left me in the box," the puppy has yawned on closing its eyes, "He has such a tender hands and a kind voice." The puppy has not heard as the elevator has arrived. But the sound of the opened door-lock has woken it. The door has started to open slowly. "Some alien tries to get in the house," the puppy thought, and it has suddenly recollected that I told to it, "And I should protect the house!" "Wake up! Some alien is here!" with all its might cried the puppy, scratching the door of the room. "Get out of here, or I shall bite you," the puppy has bravely rushed to the entered stranger, and has furiously seized his boot. The stranger has given a start and has turned the light on. "My greetings to you, little fluffy thing," has smiled the stranger, "How are you" On hearing Fluffy's bark both mum and me have come running sleepy and tousled. We have seen the daddy in the corridor, who has been stroking the puppy and laughing. Fluffy squealing from delight was licking his face. "I know you, I know," the puppy being breathless with pleasure, "It was you, who has left me in that box! I was waiting for you!" "Hush!" daddy whispered in Fluffy's ear, "Do not give me away!" It would seem that here we may finish this a little bit sad story of one day from my childhood, but in fact it is always interesting, what was next The time has passed. My puppy and I have become really close. However, it was not the puppy any more. It has become a young and well-grown dog. We walked together much, and I consider Fluffy my best friend. My mum, though sometimes was scolding Fluffy for his behavior, never forgot to give it just a little more to eat. Daddy often said that with such a 'nourishing diet' Fluffy very soon becomes much taller than dad. Fluffy liked to watch TV with daddy. It put his head on daddy's knees, and daddy was tenderly stroking its ears.
