Republican candidate McCain from Arizona and Democratic candidate Barack Obama from Illinois; both the nominees of the major parties are fighting to attain support from maximum voters. McCain was in Virginia, looking to turn out the vote in a state that normally votes Republican but appears to be siding with Obama. While Obama was enjoying a lead in national polls, he sought a knockout punch in Nevada, Colorado, and Missouri that went for George W. Bush in 2004. Barack Obama's efforts to get the support of the Sunshine State's hugely diverse electorate on Tuesday could prove decisive.

Obama has held massive rallies throughout Florida as he seeks to pry the Sunshine State from its eight-year republican grip, a move that could wrap up the election in his favor on Tuesday. Obama is ahead in states such as Nevada and North Carolina. Iowa and New Mexico are likely to move into the Democratic column and the Obama campaign is confident in chances in western states. If he has a good night on Tuesday he could even pick up Georgia, Montana, and North Dakota. McCain sees his best chance to take away a traditionally democratic state in Pennsylvania whereas Obama has many combinations of states to get to 270 electoral votes.

The path for McCain is narrow. But McCain and his aides see signs of hope from their own polling as well as from some public opinion polls.Republican candidate McCain from and Democratic candidate Barack Obama; both the nominees of the major parties are serving United States Senators and both are born outside the continental united states. It is the first time in history that the two main rivals are both sitting as Senators in the election. Both the presidential candidates support the need to curb greenhouse gases believed to cause global warming but there are likely differences that how they would implement.

Both the candidates agree on a market-based cap-and-trade program that will establish a price for carbon dioxide emissions that tightens over time, providing an incentive for businesses to develop cleaner energy technology, but they differ in details of implementation strategies. If current polling is accurate and stands up on Election Day, Obama will win, possibly by a comfortable margin. McCain, on the other hand, sees his way narrow, few exceptions are also supporting his chances to win. But the overall ratio of popularity among the two is 70 and 30.

McCain is way behind Obama with only a 30% chance of winning.
