The public may be wary about the new programs for pension plans. One of the catches of this program is that Employers who provided their own schemes for their workers could be allowed a reduction of roughly 60 percent of their payroll taxes if they guaranteed to provide a pension at least as good as the GMP. (Cohen, 2005) It was in 1986 when this was recognized. They termed it "contracting out" as citizens are allowed to use the money for private plans that they have instead of the usual way.

(Cohen, 2005) The crisis regarding Britain citizens' pensions is far from over. It is said that there are current problems regarding retirement provisions in the United Kingdom. This is regarding the country's occupational scheme. (Cohen, 2005) The British government though has some propositions on how to help ease these problems and it includes increasing the age at which workers could retire and use their money and some policies on saving and pension contribution. To decrease the problem regarding pension salary of retirees not meeting their needs and that the citizens accusing governing bodies that they were not properly educated about the effect of each of the schemes United Kingdom citizen has been a victim once of a pension plan that was posed to them by the media and the government as something that would benefit them.
