RELIGION AND EDUCATION Introduction The world has changed a lot over the last 2 centuries as many theories have been proved wrong and many new ideashave been generated that have led to great revolutions. From such aspects, religion and studies have been submerged together such that people ought to learn more about the religion as they prosper through their lives (Michael Molloy, 2006). There have been many forms of educational training programs since the colonization era and from that time many changes have been witnessed.

The Early TimesIt was like in early 16th century when the need to adapt religious learning was felt the most and it was Thomas Jefferson who latter realized that religious education was an important aspect of daily life. At the beginning of the 16th century like in 1647, the Satan Act was passed which was a tax supported structure for educating/ funding the schools. This scheme made the young people read and understand bible. This was done in the colonial America which had other important types of education systems.

These were the apprenticeships, dame schools, Latin grammar schools and higher colleges. The old deluder act stated that for towns which had around 50 families had to have a teacher who would make them learn to read and write and for towns which had 100 families had to establish a grammar school for the learners. There were foundations of Latin grammar schools as well which had teachers that were near to the minister level and these schools practiced strict discipline. Further the point was that rote memorization was a fundamental there which in today's world is by no chance a factor that can lead to excellence as today the world is more applicative and young people are made to formulate their own themes from the past experiences (Reed, James , and Prevost, 1993).

The early trends showed that the young got hard beatings if they did not follow the rules as it was seen that the Latin grammar schools has whipping post to which the students were tied and got a hard time now such practices are limited to only cadet schools where army disciplines are taught. There were Lyceums present in the early 18th century that well taught agriculture into the system.What is Important TodayThis was something about the schools n teachings at the time of Thomas Jefferson. Now the world has changed a lot and it is necessary to not just attain knowledge about our own religions but rather have a go at all religions as the world is becoming a global village and not understanding the others bindings may result in dismay and the culture be torn apart (Eavey, 1964).

It is vital to know what the other religion emphasizes upon such that we may not mistreat individuals holding other beliefs and should not adapt an extremist approach further to add we can say that the world today is much more aware than the world of that time and now people practice religious aspects more meticulously than before so it is not to coerce everyone into studying the religion because the media is playing its role and is creating a solid understanding of the religious facts.References1.
