Data was collected using the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ). The MSQ measured intrinsic, extrinsic, and overall job satisfaction. Moreover, demographic information was likewise collected as these were used to group or classify the sample.
Statistical analysis involved descriptive statistics with increased importance given to the measurement of the mean, variance, and standard deviation. The ANOVA test was then used to compare the levels of job satisfaction based on demographic characteristics. World Applications Of Statistics ANOVA and Nonparametric Tests
Real world applications of statistics are often limited by the constraints of data and complexities that defy intuition. While we can readily detect a difference in the mean of several samples, the factors that impact the variance are not so apparent. The variance among samples may be due to an independent variable or be the result of random errors.
