Organization: European Environmental Agency Organizations are built upon the idea of working towards bettering a group, or groups, that are in desperate need of assistance. Using whatever means necessary to aid the betterment of the collective good. Organizations, whose sole desires are to work towards a collective idea. The organization to assess for this piece is the European Environmental Agency, whose sole purpose is to aid in the better education of the general public about what needs to be done for helping in the environment.

"The European Environmental Agency (2008) is the EU body dedicated to providing sound, independent information on the environment. We are a main information source for those involved in developing, adopting, implementing and evaluating environmental policy, and also the general public" (p.1). The agency works towards reaching its primary goals in the following ways; "By providing a wide range of information and assessments of: The state of the environment and trends, Pressures on the environment and the driving forces behind them, Policies and their effectiveness and Outlooks/scenarios," (EEA, 1995-2008 p.1). Further promotion of the works of the group come with, "The European Environmental Agency (EEA) Scientific Committee has called for the suspension of the EU target of 10% biofuels use in transportation by 2020, and is recommending a new, comprehending scientific study on the environmental risks and benefits of biofuels," Further elaborating that, "The Scientific Committee assists the management board and executive director of the EEA by providing scientific advice and delivering professional opinions on any scientific matter in the areas of work undertaken by the Agency.

The committee comprises 20 independent scientists from 15 EEA member countries, covering a variety of environmental fields," (Green Car Congress 2008, p.1). Each individual organization has a listing of primary responsibilities that are the primary focus for the organization, as well as the body of membership which comprise it. As it stands, the focus of the European Environmental Agency are; "air quality; water quality; the state of the soil, and of fauna and flora; land use and natural resources; waste management; noise emissions; chemical substances; protection of costal areas and the marine environment," Adding that, "The Agency may cooperate in the exchange of information with other bodies , including the IMPEL network ("Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law"- information network on environment legislation linking the Member States and the Commission)," (SCADPlus; 2008, p.1). In the end, the Executive Director of the EEA, Jacqueline McGlade, says the purpose of the group is to; "Be the leading public body in Europe committed to providing environmental information to policy-makers and the public, to support sustainable development, and to help achieve significant and measurable improvements in Europe's environment, Assist the European Community institutions and EEA member countries to identify, frame, prepare and implement sound and effective environmental policy measures and legislation; and to monitor, evaluate and assess actual and expected progress in the implementation and results of such measures, Establish and coordinate the European environment information and observation network (Eionet), based on an infrastructure for collection, analysis, assessment and management of data shared with European Commission services, EEA member countries and international organisations, agreements and conventions," (DEFRA 2008, P.1). Service organizations work towards making the lives better for those impacted by worldwide ailments and strife.

In theoretical means, service by an organization to the world can lead to many things.
