Thesis Reed appeal to emotions of readers using a symbol of a night and the theme of sadness contrasted with ironic remakes and a struggle with the world around. The title of the poem "Naming of Parts" has a symbolic meaning portraying world perception of a soldier and his new reality. Reed stets: To-day we have naming of parts" (Reed). It is possible to imagine that Reed invites the audience of this poem to share some private moments, who uses her response as an occasion for musing about what it feels like to be real man, about the importance of hometown, about love for the past, and about the habit of joining organizations-all of this while sitting alone in a room.

Reed uses a unique topic of past, present and future to create a picture of the world and emotional tension. Figurative language and metaphors help him to unveil reality of soldier's life and evil of the war. "And to-morrow morning, We shall have what to do after firing" (Reed). The aim of this device is to sketch out, in effect, three pictures or versions of this critical spectrum, from night, midnight and the early morning. Reed names things as follows: "This is the lower sling swivel. And this / Is the upper sling swivel, whose use you will see, / When you are given your slings" (Reed).

These symbols underline problems and life troubles and hardship of life faced by the characters. In order to read the poetry, it is important to understand the meaning of symbols and language means. In the poems, night and darkness are associated with hardship and poverty. Thus, it is still a personal perception of reality and the outside world. It is fair to say that when the information that is to be had is finally put together, a fresh picture of poetics will emerge, featuring new elements and new stress lines.

In the poem, Reed uses vivid and even harsh language to create a conflict and describe wartime. The critical approaches used by the author are expanded beyond its recognized limits. Even the very meaning of "criticism" and "critical discourse" is a matter of renewed debate. For a reader, it is increasingly important to look beyond the official, mainstream and academic criticism but understand true feelings of the characters and their outside world. "This is the safety-catch, which is always released / With an easy flick of the thumb" (Reed).

The language of the poem is concise and relevant as it helps Reed to unveil pain and sufferings experienced by soldiers. Reed tells readers that the speaker is sad and apathetic experiencing loneliness and even guilt: In this case, a symbol of rain supports and develops the theme of night and darkness of the heart. The moral point of the poem is that we have a possibility to create our reality and the world around us "naming parts" and our feelings. "And please do not let me '/ See anyone using his finger.

You can do it quite easy / If you have any strength in your thumb" (Reed). Thus, this picture is done in stark contrasts with light and day. The picture effaces all the oppositions, and it yields a more complex set of nuances, by reintroducing more appropriate criteria: light verses darkness. The image of reality merges without completely synthesizing the two pictures and (will
