Humor is a way of saying something serious Humor is a way of saying something serious. Humor is a situation of being or trying to be amusing or comical. Humor can be expressed in different situations like comedies or videos, funny jokes, pictures and many others. These are some examples of comedy films that express humor: Team America, Missing Corpse, Your Highness, Hot rod, 30 minutes or fewer, behave yourself, the other guys, The Two Comics Walk into a Church, Roommates, Standup Bits, Sin Takes a Holiday and so many other examples. As you carefully watch these comedies, you will realize a lot of humor in them and thus prove “Humor is a way of saying something serious.” Some of these examples are discussed below. Team America is an American action comedy written by Trey Parker, Pam Brady and Matt Stone. This film is associated with stereotypes and clichés on the global implications with humorous emphasis of United States politics. Team American is a paramilitary anti-terrorism world police force which has a home in Mt. Rushmore. This group (Lisa, Carson, Sarah, Joe and Chris) destroys the Arc de Triomphe Eiffel Tower and the Louvre having tracked down terrorists in Paris, France during a gun battle. Carson is gunned down by a terrorist while proposing to Lisa and so replaced by Gary Johnston. The terrorists with mass destruction weapons are being supplied by Kim Jong-il from North Korea who is a dictator and the teams unbeknownst. Gary uses his acting skills successfully to infiltrate a terrorist group in Cairo, Egypt. This team successfully destroys the terrorists and leaves the city with ruins. During a relaxation period of the team, a group of terrorists from Panama Canal blow up as a retaliation of what happened in Cairo. Finally, Gary is sent to North Korea by Spottiswoode, who is their boss, to free the other members using his acting skills. After that, they confront Kim Jong-il and Gary go on stage to convince world leaders to use the drifter’s emotional speech to unite. Alec Baldwin is killed by Kim Jong-il using a submachine gun, and Lisa kicks him over a balcony. Kim Jong-il is then compared to be an alien cockroach from a Gyron planet that departs in a miniature spaceship, promising to return. The team again unites as Gary and Lisa engages in a relation as thereafter prepare to combat the remaining terrorists in the world. The Missing Corpse is another American comedy Albert Herman being the director. The Tribune newspaper publisher, Henry Kruger, who orders his staff around, realizes that everyone at his own home ignores him. He is much shocked when he finds a scandalous picture of her daughter, Phyllis, in front of a competing paper named ‘The Daily Argus’. He then visits the publisher of the competing paper, Andy McDonald, to warn him not to do that again, or he destroys him. Joe Clary known as “Slippery” hears this conversation between Henry and Andy that Henry is to destroy Andy and Henry is not aware that Joe has heard that. To stop these complications, Henry decides to vacate away, due to his chauffeur. Andy is killed by Joe, and he hides the body at the car parking of Henry. Joe breaks into Andy’s house to look for evidences about conversation between Henry and Andy but finds nothing. Henry finds Andy’s dead body at his car parking while coming to the park. Henry dumps the body while panicking to avoid being accused of murder, but in bad luck he is seen by his chauffeur before he accomplishes his plans. The chauffeur protects him by advising him to hide the body in the lodge. The body is hidden by the two men several times during visitors’ time to avoid discovery. Later Joe comes to look the evidence in the Andy’s body. There came a lot of visitors including Henry’s relatives and publisher of The Daily Argus who want get a scandalous story again to publish in the paper. All visitors discover the body at some points, but so the chauffeur has to confuse the guests by constantly moving the body and Henry the guests that it is only hallucination. Finally, Henry is arrested by local law officer after being the suspect of Andy’s death. A humor appears when Henry’s relative, James, confesses false fully that he is the one who murdered Andy so to get Henry out of jail. Andy’s body is found having a confession in one of his pockets. Admitting that he is guilty, Joe is arrested as the murderer of Andy and learns that Trigg has confession thus Henry’s suspicion is cleared. Henry is no longer ignored by his family and find sitting at breakfast alone the next day. From the story above, you can realize a lot of humor in it. Behave yourself is another example of a humor comedy. It was directed and written in 1951 by George Beck starring being Farley Granger and Shelley Winters. Bill (Farley Granger) forgets his anniversary with Kate (Shelly Winters) until when a small dog starts to follow him. This two are happily married but here comes their second marriage anniversary. Bill comes home without a present for Kate because where he used to get the presents were racked by Welsh terrier. Kate understands this situation and names the terrier and Archie. The terrier escaped from its owners of which Bill and Kate did not know. Bill tried his best to get rid of the terrier as they did not get along. While bill tries to return Archie to its owners, he was caught in the middle. Archie always does what he is trained to do, and Kate can not quite understand why Archie follow them. Later a police was trying investigating a series of murders in which Bill seems to be a suspect and also chaos ensues. Sin Takes a Holiday is another humorous comedy. This is a romantic comedy whereby a poor secretary, Sylvia Brenner (Constance Bennett), accepts to be married by her boss Gaylord Stanton (Kenneth MacKenna) so that the boss can avoid being taken to court because of a divorce from his girlfriend Grace Lawrence (Rita La Roy) whereby she is sent to Europe by him so that he can go on his new idea. Sylvia spends her time in Paris with Gaylord’s friend, Reggie Durant (Basil Rathbone). When she arrives from Paris, she attracts everyone’s eye, and she cleans her house quickly. As a fun of the comedy, you can find some amusing or funny situations. This brings about humor. Your Highness is an American comedy film directed by David Gordon Green starring being Danny McBride, James Franco, Zooey Deschanel and Natalie Portman. Thadeous and Fabious are warriors who are sons to King Tallious in the Kingdom of Mourne. Thadeous is lazy and ineffectual while Fabious is skilled and dashing. Leezar has been ravaging kingdom of Tallious’s and is now celebrating victory over the evil sorcerer. Belladonna has been freed tower and Fabious introduces and wishes to marry her. Leezer crashes the wedding and re-kidnaps Belladona and fees. Thadous is given an ultimatum to join Fabious to rescue Belladonna failure to which they will be banished from Mourne. As they do research they did research they found out that Leezer was attempting to fulfill a warlock prophecy of having sex with maiden, making her pregnant with a dragon that could allow him to lead over King Tallious’s kingdom. The two boys are then given a direction leading them to the blade of Unicom to destroy Leezer and his plans. Julie, a reporter of Leezer, has been reporting progress of the two boys. As they progress, they are joined by Courtney. In the way, they are captured by nymphs under their leader, Marteetee, and imprison them in an arena. After Fabious kills off Marteetee’s finest warrior, Marteetee decides to kill them, but they are saved by Isabel, who wants to revenge against her father’s death in Marteetee’s hand. So Thandeous also came to realize that Isabel is also with them. Isabel stole the magic compass given to them, and she leaves them without any idea. Fabious, courageously decides to find the place alone where they were heading to while Courtney and Thadeous went to a tavern. They found Isabel and again stole the compass back and head to the Blade of Unicom. They made a move towards the castle of Leezer here they freed Fabious and gave him a Unicom Sword. Leezer’s life was called off by Fabious using the sword before he could rape Belladona, saving the kingdom. After that victory Isabel having another quest, she left to deal with it, and the other heroes returned home. Fabious and Belladona got married while Isabel approached Thedous as she revealed that she had fallen in love with him. Here, we can prove that humor is a way of saying something serious.
