They provide well-planned curriculum that helps students in learning. It also provides job training program and short courses for businessmen and professionals so that they can excel in information technology.
The college offers nine associate degree courses in liberal arts and sciences and fifteen in career development area and ten specialized certificate programs. Transfer program is for the students who are planning to continue their studies after completing this course. After completing two years program from this college they will be transferred to the senior college. Career program is for those students who wish to go for their careers and jobs right after completing their degrees. The most enrolled programs include liberal arts and sciences, business administration and nursing pre clinical.
The Business department of Queens Borough College is one of the best in its respect. It has produced many students which are serving in different organization right now. It offers a good combination of courses in Business administration program that covers accounting, marketing, management and information technology etc. One course that is missing in the list is the Human Resource Management. Mostly business students like to opt Human Resource Management (HRM), as it is very popular and they can go in good career after completing their degree in HRM. So I suggest that HRM should be included in the list of the subjects.
The Public Relations department should be improved, the first impression that the students get is about the college is from the attitude they receive from Information Desk or Office. So the people employed in Information Desk should be well-mannered and co-operative.
The students who want to study Business as their major, wants to persuade their career in this field, so the college must recognize those students and should support them fully in achieving their target. Their target could be achieved by having quality education and the second thing that counts is that how much you are interacting with the real business environment in the city. They must be given assignments and projects that could be done by going to different organizations, like this they would be given a chance to be in contact with business people and the personnel that are sitting in actual market where they will go tomorrow for job hunting. Secondly, the faculty members should also get themselves in contact with the businessmen in the city so that when the students go to any organization, they should be fully recognized and be given proper attention at that place.
The method of teaching and the environment in classroom and college must be unbiased towards minorities, like foreigners, African-Americans and women. If it is not, then it's a reason of creating discrimination and also this discrimination is a major reason of repulsion from any place or any environment. If they felt like this, they would never like to come to this place and would never like to study here.
Delegations should be sent in high schools and there should be some training sessions for the students also. As they are the ones who will be getting admission in college and will be the one choosing ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

The Expression- Opposites Attract

...Most people have heard of the expression, opposites attract.' It suggests that people with very different, even opposite personalities, will likely be attracted to one another. The rationale behind this assumption is that if two people are extremely similar in personalities, they could very well bore each other, with the consequence being the breakdown of their relationship. In direct comparison, if two people are opposite in character, the one quiet and the other lively for example, they would function to both balance one another out and complete one another. It is, therefore assumed, or at least as suggested by the quoted expression, that opposite personalities are likely to have a lasting and deep relationship because, paradoxically...

Opposites attract

...Opposite Attract Different people from different localities use different attributes to select their marriage partners. In the USA for instance, people tend to get more attracted to people with a different personality from them. To find out more about this topic, past statistics or a research on the topic becomes essential. Undertaking a research is preferred since it gives most current information. A research entails three basic steps, which are planning, conducting, and reporting (Ravid, 2010). There are five types of research, analytical, descriptive, experimental, qualitative and creative (Thomas, Nelson & Silverman, 2005). The choice of any one of the mentioned depends on the results aimed at. For instance, a descriptive research...

How to make university more international

...How to Make More International This paper seeks to expound on how Universities can be upgraded to international status via the introduction of various activities, which make the University more accommodating to foreign students. This can only be done via the active involvement of all University stakeholders, including the administration & the students studying at the university. Western Universities have lagged behind in this area due to the domination of native students. This is especially prevalent in the older Universities that have long traditions that limit their scope of integration. Foreign students, while in lectures, are comfortable sharing with their comrades. Once classes are up, they tend to retreat into their respective...

How Might Unions Attract Employee Support

...HRM poses special problems for trade unions. How might unions attract employee support and reflect employee views in an HRM environment? I. Introduction The identification of the employees’ needs has been traditionally a major problem for any organization. The creation of a sector that will handle exclusively the needs and the demands of the employees, i.e. of the HRM, did not resolve all their problems as it had been expected. Perhaps, such a result can be possibly be explained by the fact that the organization is by nature a multi-complex environment which faces significant difficulties when dealing with its internal issues – its structure can perhaps explain such a failure. Jackson et al. (1995, 237) found that HRM can be used...

Evandale's Business Plan

Evandale’s mission would have a strong impact on the company’s later brand development.
When a company determines its mission and its vision, it needed to determine its objectives to accomplish that vision. I did not see the objectives—where the company was heading through in the presentation. A clear objective would have enabled me, as an audience to also picture where the company would want to go and would serve as the benchmark for me to assess the later strategic choices the company would state in the presentation.
According to the slides, the potential demand for caviar and the sturgeon products are “100x” bigger than the current supply. I would have wanted to see a reliable source for...

The Management, Leadership and Teamwork Competencies Required by a Small Business Owner

On the other hand organizational leadership is defined as the ability based on the specific skill of an individual to lead his/her subordinates in a manner that pre-planned organizational goals could be achieved within the defined time-frame.

According to Burns (1978) and Bass (1985), transformational leadership has a set of category constructs such as values, morals, farsightedness, long term goals, principles, acute awareness about the dividing line between causes and symptoms, mission statements, strategic perspectives, and human resources. I think we are all in agreement: you could have Money, Machines and Management, but without Manpower, you cannot have a business. And unless you have good Manpower working well together, you cannot have a successful business.

Do people work well together naturally? Those of you who are familiar with office politics will say, “Of course not!” You are right: left to themselves, few people work well toget...

For centuries, ethics has been a crucial and significant component of human societies that contributed enormously to the creation of norms and values through religious influences, as well as through the contribution of intellectuals and philosophers in society. Unfortunately, nowadays, it is an observation that individuals, organizations, and even nations have commenced overlooking the phenomenon of ethics in their practices, specifically in the business sector that has become the major stakeholder confronting criticisms related to ethical practices. Critics (Crane, pp. 23-29, 2007) argue that business ethics has now become a component limited to theoretical policies and frameworks of business organizations, and such principles an...
