Extract of sample "Education for the Future"

Education for future School system in future will differ drastically from existing bureaucratic organization, and the present essay is designed toaddress the changes in educational organization in fifty years from now. First of all, the needs of a young human-being will alter following the prevalence of technocracy over society, so the most important skills which will be necessitates by community as well as the learner are device operation and profound knowledge about ICT. Developmental needs will be satisfied in this special way, as the mentioned knowledge and skills will be vital for the survival of human race.

The nature of education will be expanded, whereas less important courses will be curbed or shortened.Schools as institutions will exist in fifty years, as they have proved to provide both personality growth and cultural upbringing to students, but they will operate according to different schemes, as future informational needs of an individual will require faster memorization and analysis. The pace of learning will increase, whereas the necessary attendance is likely to be reduced, as there will appear such feature as virtual attendance - human hologram will be able to perceive all information, including from sensual channels (see, hear, touch and so on).

The concept of education is also likely to alter - from 'teaching' to 'education' in pure meaning, i.e. there will be more attention to individual assignments. Nevertheless, the role of teacher, or, more precisely, tutor, will remain intact, and in addition, the professor's authority and knowledge will become one of the main stimuli for secondary education. In fact, schools will be more adjusted to each person's needs, and classes will be formed according to each student's interests and aspirations for future.

From earliest years, students will concentrate on the subjects or topics they find interesting or worth attention, whereas the so-called general disciplines, such as math, history, literature and physics will 'survive'. New ICTs will allow committing greater volumes of information to the child's memory, so the learner will have chance to learn literally everything on their field of interest or area of competence. Aforementioned technologies will also make education more attractive for young students, as classes will normally contain the visual explanation or demonstration (video materials, such as historical films providing real-time presence).

Education policies will become more specific (for each social groups in particular), but they will stress the importance of cultural learning from kindergarten, as geographic mobility will also increase, so the knowledge of 10-20 foreign languages will be a normality rather than a marvel. Furthermore, there will be a special schedule section which responds to the basic social needs, and encompasses such disciplines as knowledge management (skills of successful learning and applying knowledge to social settings), device operation (practical discipline, explaining how to deal with contemporary computers and other ITs), physical training and psychology and practical learning (7-8-year children will visit different organizations select which area they would like to focus on in their future).

Human development will be accelerated and student will learn ho ro plan effectively their studies and leisure time. The main characteristic of future schools which makes them similar to existing institutions will be the presence of tutor and educational formations (classes, groups). The main difference is the gradual narrowing of specialization in each following academic year, so that the student will be able to reflect freely and skillfully upon the issues he/she is interested in and make research and policy proposals.

The main principle of future schools will be "Information should support and foster human development" .
