With an increase in technology, more drugs labeled as “safe” have made routes to street markets presuming to offer the cure to diseases. These designer drugs trend in the streets as herbal drugs are in one way or another other consumed by unwitty teenagers.  Most of these drugs find their routes to the body either orally or injected into the blood where they react with the body causing abnormal brain and body functions. In essence, most of these drugs are psychoactive and possess either mild or deadly effects after consumption. It is also termed an entactogen, an inhibitory drug that increases awareness and empathy. It is generally sold as MDA and consumed in the form of tablets, capsules, or powder forms that can be ingested orally. The US Drug Enforcement Administration confirmed that despite their name, the drug also contains other substances such as methylone, which causes serious binding effects on the activities of the brain (Magill et al. 2019. The drug causes the release of more serotonin and norepinephrine compared to dopamine. Since serotonin is a neurotransmitter concerned with the regulation of moods, pain, appetite, sleep, and other behaviors, the excess release of serotonin by molly drugs leads to mood-elevating effects. Dopamine is linked to the brain system and energy. Norepinephrine linked to the heart increases blood pressure which can cause heart-related infections such as blood vessels and heart problems (Palmar et al. 2019). The drug is chemically synthesized from natural essential oils like safrole and piperonal. In essence, the alkene functional group safrole reacts with halogen in the presence of mineral acid-forming amine alkylation. It is a street that is mostly consumed in nightclubs to have a sense of good feelings, especially by the youths.

The symptoms associated with Molly's drug when it intoxicates the body include uncontrolled body movement, clenched jaws, restlessness, anxiety, even paranoia, abdominal cramping, nausea, and vomiting. It also leads to increased blood pressure due to the inhibition of the Norepinephrine activities of the drug in the heart. According to Guilcher et al. (2017), the drug has the potential of affecting the urinary system by retaining urine constituents for longer periods. It can also cause delayed orgasms as a result of imbalanced sex hormones such as testosterone in the body. Under high dosage, it results in ecstasy characterized by very high blood pressure, fainting spells, seizures, and panic attacks. This occurs due to an imbalance in levels of dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine against the body's required levels. Therefore, these initiate withdrawal symptoms, including ecstasy processes out of the bloodstream. Meacher and Clegg (2016) outline that ecstasy is more physiological than physical. Therefore, the drug shows the upper hand in psychological symptoms like fatigue, depression, irritability, insomnia, hostility, and mood swings. Similarly, physical symptoms such as paranoia, panic attacks, psychosis, and other physical bizarre hallucination and delusions are usually observed.

People who use MDMA for longer periods can get extensive superior effects such as reduced ability to switch their feelings, problems with memory, personality variations, and severe depression. Therefore, it is legally advised that people with mental health problems should not take the drug as it causes worse health problems than healthy individuals. In summary, the drugs have psychoactive constituents that can lead to permanent and long-term psychic effects such as depression, loss of appetite, and frequent agitations.

Physically, MDMA provides the feeling of mood positivity, intimacy, and closeness to each other. It also makes users active by activating their energy. It also makes users to be hallucinated by having vision and imagination. The behavioral effects of the drug include expression variations that can are linked to poor judgments of individuals using the drug. Molly causes a fatal reaction like the impaired ability to concentrate, and low depression in terms of different moods. It also makes people feel more open to one another. Some users also experience a low mood.

Various legally and medically ascertain methods can be used to treat overdose of molly drugs; these include inpatient treatment programs. Others include recovery therapies and creating peer support groups. Inpatient programs may involve managing the conditions through monitoring the addiction levels by physicians and other qualified medical personnel.  Psychological therapies like parent and multisystem training can also be adopted to reduce new additions in the identified societies. Procedures to enhance and monitor intervention implementation include observing the patient’s recovery process. Other methods of psychological techniques include intervention consultation, structuring patient recalls, and using standardized training methods for the patients.

The drug causes serious fatalities, including increased mortality, health destruction, and loss of individual image in society. It causes an increase in the real number of deaths as a result of overdose. A drug user causes road accidents as a result of losing focus, thus derailing other people. According to Wong and Afshani (2016), the drug can cause ovarian cancer in women overusing the drug. Therefore, legal requirements are in continual campaigns to abolish the use of the drug.
