The paper "Competitive Position of Coca Cola in Various Markets" is a perfect example of a case study on marketing. In 1886 Pemberton, a pharmacist from Atlanta, Georgia through his experiments with liquid tonics developed a formula that was brain tonic and started selling it in his pharmacy.  However, the doctor sold the business to another person who built the Coca-Cola brand that is now worth over 58 billion dollars. Today the company has spread beyond the US and generates 60% revenue and 80% of its profit outside the US. The company has three mission statements, “To refresh the world. “To inspire moments of optimism and happiness and to create value and make a difference.” The product provides the best refreshing moments that bring families together. Today Coca-Cola through its main product coke is known as a social drink that refreshes every moment when people are having fun (Keller 2013, p.21).

Coca-cola is the world’s global leader in the beverage industry. The company is best known for the cola beverage drink that they produce. This drink is the mark of quality for the company and the center for competition. Anytime Coca-Cola is mentioned the cola drink (coke) is the point of comparison or differentiation. It owns a production license for the production of over 500 nonalcoholic beverage brands. According to the company, its success depends on the strategy that the company uses to connect to its customers through the provision of a variety of choices that meet their desires, lifestyle choices, and desires. The company earns revenue streams of approximately US$44.294 billion per year.

To survive in business and be able to compete, the company has placed itself strategically with the cola drink as the brand for the company. Coca-Cola is known for its coke cola drink. The company partners with independent bottling partners who provide bottling services to the company. The company partners with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers to form the world’s largest distribution system (Golan 1999, p.7).
