Executive Summary

Global warming has become a critical issue that is affecting sustainable growth of the world. With the current levels of pollution, the attention of the world has turned towards conserving the environment. South West Water has been participating in corporate social responsibility. This is to improve its reputation in the market. Furthermore, through corporate social responsibility, the business is able to interact with the customers, understand their interests, and make the necessary changes in order to retain them while attracting other potential clients. On the other hand, globalization has led to the liberalization of markets and improved flow of information. Various governments across the world are eliminating trade barriers, thereby, enabling the multinational companies to open subsidiaries in different parts of the world. Therefore, this report analyzes South West Water CSR strategy and their benefits towards the organization.

The concept of customer relationship management has become significant for the success of any business in the market. With the changing global market, it’s significant for the business to establish a strong relationship with the customers. This is important in ensuring that the business addresses their grievances and any issue that might affect their consumption behaviour. Therefore, this report is significant in identifying ways in which the business can understand the interests of the customers through corporate social responsibility.

In order to come up with an in-depth conclusion, the report evaluated various secondary sources. This is to get the perceptions and positions held by different authors in regard to corporate social responsibility. This is critical in ensuring that the report is exhaustive and not based on personal opinions or different allegations. On the other hand, the report has relied heavily on information provided by the company. This has been significant in making the final conclusion and providing well informed recommendations.

The objectives were achieved by comparing the global aspect of the business with the strategy being implemented by the South West Water. This made it easy to analyze and identify areas that the business should improve in order to improve service delivery, brand value, and position in the market. Furthermore, the report compared the various interventions by the company and identified areas that need to be improved in order to satisfy the interests of the target market.

After an in-depth analysis of the materials, the report concluded that the company should adapt to the current global trends. It must install modern security apparatus to protect the information by the customers. Furthermore, it must vet its employees in order to ensure that they are committed to the welfare of the business. Furthermore, the business should expand its operations in order to reduce the risks associated with focusing on a single market. Moreover, South West Water should expand its operations to new markets with the aim of increasing its revenue. On the other hand, it should increase the amount set aside for CSR programs. This is to increase its impact and reach in the region. Furthermore, the move will make it possible for the business to invest in projects that will solve the social issues that affect the people. This is critical in making a direct impact on people in the society.

The report recommended that the company should invest more on modern technologies. This would be critical in enabling it to lower the cost of operation and spread the benefits to the customers. This will be critical in maintaining the loyalty of the customers. As a result, the move will make it hard for new entrants to segment the market. It was also recommended that the company should train its employees in order to improve their skills and ability to deal with various challenges that keep on arising in the market. Moreover the business should invest heavily on research. This is to develop a close relationship with the customers through offering them with products and services that are well customized to meet their tastes and preferences. The benefits of these interventions are to maintain the competitive edge of the business even as the threat of new entrant increases.
