Unique Value Proposition related to the interaction between people and technology Introduction: The survey of the market over the past century or so reveals the fact that there have been experienced a number of changes in the setting up of the market and the various market forces have evolved and changed in accordance to the various needs, demands and requirements of the individual. The most important change that was experienced was the coming of the industrial revolution, which led to a higher level of production. This in turn led to the complete change in the market system, and with time there was experienced a break down of the local barriers and there has today emerged a strong market economy. Due to the emergence of the global market forces the competition that is faced by most of the production houses has increased manifolds and the various organizations are today looking for innovative methods to ensure that there can be ensured creation and sustenance of demand for their products in the international market. Most of the companies are today trying to evolve new and more effective strategic policies so that the products that they are producing can secure a wider consumer base. Thus, marketing of the product as well as of the organization has emerged as a highly important function in the strategic management of all organizations. There has been realised that it is only through management of the resources that an efficient method of production and supply can be established, and most of the companies today are looking at ensuring that this follows the value chain analysis, where each step looks at ensuring that there is some value that is added to the product and through strategic management of the resources this can be achieved in an economic and efficient manner. The changes that have taken place in the society today, have led to the emergence of a highly developed society based on technological advancements. There has been observed that these new developments can be adopted by the people and the government to ensure that the various needs and demands of the people can be met in a more economic manner. In the following paper there shall be developed a detailed program, which would look at a specific problem that is faced by the society and then based on the technological developments and use of people participation, a more evolved solution will be evolved, which would include the interest of the government as well as of the industry. The solution shall aim at ensuring that the problem is dealt with in the most effective manner while upholding the interest of the stock holders. Value Chain Analysis: The concept of value chain analysis was first made popular by Michael Porter in the year of 1985. It is a concept which was developed in direct relation to the business management and seeked to ensure that the productive system that was adopted was effective and made use of all the disposable resources to their optimum level. The method can be applied at the global level according to Porter who believed that the wide field of synchronised interactions that is undertaken by the industry creates an extended value chain (Porter M E 1996). In the following paper there shall be developed a program that will ensure the use of technological developments and people interaction on the basis of the value chain analysis to develop a practical and profitable solution to a problem that is facing the Australian society in the current day and age. This method will aim at ensuring that the various needs are met in the effective manner while upholding the interests of those who are the stock holders in the scheme. Problem identification: There are a number of problems that are facing our society in the current day and age, including issues of water shortages, climate change, global warming, lack of facilities and services, unemployment and others. In the following paper there shall be laid focus on the social problem of lack of medicinal supplies in the outback areas of the country. There has to be realised that the Australian polity is a highly rugged and vast one, where there is inhabitation in areas which can only be accessed through air. The population that is residing in such areas are usually closed communities with a minimal interaction with the world outside. The fact that has been realised is that there is a lack of supplies of medical help in cases of emergency in such areas. There is a system in place where help can be summoned by radio or other communicative techniques from the nearest area, but the whole system is highly under developed with almost no advancements made (Packward H 2008). The paper shall now look at developing a more evolved system of medical assistance in these areas so that the challenges and the needs of the people can be met and there can be evolved a more advanced system based on technological advancements and people participation. System in place: There is in place a very basic solution strategy in the society today. Under the current system, if there has been a case of medicinal emergency then the help is summoned through radio to the area, and there is no estimate of time, and most of the time there has been observed that there is one centre that is catering to the needs of many remote areas. Under this system there are a number of problems that are faced. Firstly, there has to be realised that the system of radio is highly unpredictable, as during rain storms the people are unable to communicate any emergencies. Also, under the present system there has been observed that there is usually faced the problem of lack of medicinal facilities and amenities due to which the patients have to be flown to urban centres, which takes time, and can lead to further complications and problems. Thus there is a clear gap between the demand and need of the people and the system that is in place in these remote areas of the country. There is thus felt a need to re examine the existing system and ensure that there is evolved a more developed system in place of the system that is currently under functioning so as to ensure that the various requirements of the communities can be fulfilled. The new system can be evolved with people participation, and the venture can be developed by the industry as well as the government in collaboration so as to ensure that the system is sensitive to the social need yet, the public funds alone do not carry the burden of the cost. The system that will be evolved can also be made highly efficient through the implementation of the value chain analysis. Solution that is evolved: As has already been mentioned in the section above there is today felt a need in society to ensure that a more advanced system is developed and implemented in these remote areas to meet the medicinal needs of the people of the outback. There are various areas that the need to be looked into and evolved in accordance to the technological advancements that have taken place over the years to ensure that the system is efficient and economic in nature. These include the people participation, government and industry collaboration, development of medicinal facilities and employing medical experts such as doctors and other such activities. These have been discussed in details in the section below. The first step that has to be undertaken is to identify the institutions which will be the stock holders of the new program, and look into its development and establishment. The institutions which will be involved will include the government, the medicinal industry and the local communities that are to come under the program (Business Week 1993). The new program will have to be set up in collaboration with the government and a medical centre which will be able to provide the expertise that will be required to help set up the entire system. The program will look at the development of a centre which will have all the basic amenities that are required by the various individuals in case of medicinal emergency. This centre will be the main head quarters which would employ the doctors and the nurses, provide the medicines and also act as the communication centre to take all the various calls that would come across. There has to be realised that the size of these communities in the singular are small, but taken as a whole, the customer base that could be built up is huge. This has to be utilised to ensure that better facilities are provided to the people. The helipads and the helicopter facilities that are utilised can be taken from the company that is functioning in the area so as to ensure that the cost of the whole set up is not very high and the facilities that are provided are in sync with the regional requirements of the area. These instead of being borrowed can be rented on a basis of six month so that they are available to the medicinal facility any time. Another area that needs to be improved and developed is that of the communication system that is undertaken by the medicinal facility and the people, so that the cases of emergency can be communicated to the medicinal facility without any delay. This can be ensured through the development of a system which is more technologically advanced than the system which is in place which makes the usage of radio communication. This can be replaced by the newly developed system of internet communication that will help link all the various houses and communities to the medicinal facility. This will also help ensure a more organised system as this will help ensure that the complete estimate of the people who come under the centre are registered and accounted for. This would facilitate a better accounting of their past records, rather than the sporadic treatment that is in place in the country today. There also has to be ensured that the government is collaborated into the system to ensure that the system is developed in amore egalitarian basis, and will be developed ion sync with the welfare system and ideology that is promoted and adopted by the state of the country. Diagrammatic Representation: Internet connection from homes to centre New main medical centre for a number of communities Helicopters for hire over a period, to ensure cheapest mode of transport Advantages and Value chain analysis: In the whole system that has been stated above, the value chain analysis has been employed where each step is looked at from the strategic managerial view point and evolved on the basis of that. The system that is evolved is such that the interest of the stock holders are upheld, where the government is able to ensure that the medicinal facilities in the country improves and social welfare is established, the helicopter company will have an ensured income and will help provide the cheapest possible solution to the problem of inaccessibility that is faced in the area (Critical Issue). The new system of communication that is has been suggested can be evolved in such a manner that the long run cost is minimal in nature and will also help ensure that there is no failing of communication during an emergency due to the natural reasons. There also has to be realised that the interaction that will take place between the people and the technology will help ensure that the technology is moulded in sync with the requirements of the society and is not just implemented for the sake of it alone. It is through the interaction of the two that a stable and suitable system can be developed. References: Business Week 1993: The horizontal corporation, 20th December 1993.
