The paper 'Australian Wine Export and the United Kingdom Wine Market" is a good example of a marketing case study. Australia is the fourth largest exporter of wine in the world exporting over 400 million liters of wine to different destinations across the world including some of the oldest wine-producing countries. The Australian domestic wine industry is also very stable with Australians consuming over 400 million liters per year. The industry has been a significant producer to the Australian economy through employment, production and export market which is worth approximately 3 Billion US Dollars.

It is with the magnitude of the Australian wine export market that we have decided to start a company that will be responsible for exporting some of our unique brands to the United Kingdom.

The company will be trading under the name “Aussie Wines International (A.W.I)” both locally and internationally. It will be consisting of the number “456123789” as its business number.

AWI's suppliers will be the Fine Wine Wholesaler, this company will be provided will the mandate of supplying wines to AWI for its export market. This supplier was chosen due to its outstanding reputation as one of the leading wine wholesalers and also going by the fact that it represented a huge list including major Australian wineries. The company is also very prompt in delivering new products produced in the market.

There is a lot of flexibility when it comes to ordering the wine for re-sale, to begin with, anyone ordering for example “WHLS Adelaide Hills Shiraz Clean skin” label at wholesale price with the minimum quantity being a dozen, will be given a 50% discount, for a bottle that retails at $16. In other words, he will purchase it at $8 per bottle of wine. The discount keeps on getting more as you order in larger quantities and anybody ordering more than 10000 bottles is likely to get up to 65% discount on the retail price. This price set is very much ideal for an exporter, who would like to venture into the international wine market since the export prices have a very significant markup price.
