Book Review 08 DECEMBER "Delivering Happiness" Book Report Delivering happiness business model is the outstanding customer service of Zappos. The focus of the brand is on delivering happiness, whether they are customers, employees, or vendors. Through delivering happiness business model, the company focuses over providing customer satisfaction. A good customer service is importantly a golden rule for every firm because it help companies in attracting a large number of customers. A unique selling Proposition (USP) is difficult to pin down, but its not the case with Zappos, which is the customer service company, and is into selling shoes.

It is the core value of Zappos to deliver happiness with good customer service and create fun, which is pertinent with each aspect of the company (Hseieh 26). Unique selling proposition (USP) is defined as the factor, which is presented through the seller, as a reason that there product or service is entirely different from or much better than its competitors. Customer Service enhances the products image, improve companies position and even enhances customer loyalty. The significant benefit of customer service is that it brings sustainable competitive advantage because it leads to innovation and helps in meeting the customer demands.

Yes, “Your culture is your brand” is perfectly correct, because long term brand could only be build through culture. If the culture of the company is right, then other stuffs, such as outstanding customer service, long term brand, passionate customers and employees could be easily owned by the company. As one wants to build and maintain its culture then, its process starts with the hiring process. Talented people can immediately impact on the companys culture; therefore, right and talented employees should be hired by the company that fits into the culture of the company (Hseieh 35).

Zappos has the strong corporate culture, along with good customer service, which is the crucial aspect of the company. There are three reasons behind Zappos management to ask for all stock transaction for the sale of Zappos to Amazon:1. There was an enormous opportunity with Amazon for accelerating the growth of Zappos culture and brand, and Amazon can lead to the faster growth of Zappos.2. Amazon support Zappos in continuous growth along with independent vision, under the Zappos brand and unique culture (Hseieh 36).3. Amazon want to align with shareholders and partners for long term, and they also have an interest in prevailing investors and shareholders.
