This statement appeals to the emotion and logic of the readers. By saying that, it will hopefully persuade the people to buy the product since it is world-class.
In one corner of the advertisement is a short paragraph, “In Mayfair”. This paragraph seems irrelevant in the whole advertisement. One thinks that it does not add an impact on the message that it wants to relay to the readers. The advertisement could have stood without it. The designers of the advertisement probably thought that this will add credence to their claim that the soap is the one used by the aristocrats.
In the last part of the advertisement, the benefits of using the soap are presented. It uses bold capital letters to emphasize the advantages of using Yardley soap. Below the last paragraph, the price of the product is written and it states where it can be bought. Further below, the various products of Yardley are shown. Read More

Yardley Of London

...the entire world. Yardley of London is among the most popular companies in Britain. History Of Yardley Yardley was first brought into business in 1620, in the reign of the impecunious Charles I, when a young man of that name paid the monarch a large, and no doubt welcome, sum of money to gain a concession to manufacture soap for the whole of London. Sadly, the particulars of this canny enterprise were lost in the great fire of London in 1666, except for one detail: Mr. Yardley used English lavender to perfume his soap a fragrance for which Yardley is famous to this day. William Cleaver inherited the soap and perfumery business founded by his father in the city of...

He writes: "Since the 1930s the soap opera has been defined by what it pretends to be but is not, by what it lacks rather than what it is" (2). He points out that with reference to the definitions of what soap operas are, "we need to examine not only what was said...
