? Marketing in Real World Marketing is a push tactic that involves promoting either service or product as a way ofpromoting sales. An organization must employ best marketing strategies as a way of boosting sales of their products or services. Marketing largely depend on the scope and nature of a business and industry (Silk, 2006). Marketing is anticipated to meet customer needs and wants in order to increase demand for a particular product or service. Every company would use all their available resources to increase their customer base, advance client sentiments towards the organizations products as well as advancing the perceived worth. Marketing is all about achieving company’s objectives and becoming more effective than competitors in an industry through various means such as communicating customer value. Target market, marketers and what is being marketed are the most important elements that comprise marketing. It can also be said that marketing is a social process that ensures persons and groups satisfaction via creation and exchange of goods and value with others (Burrow & Bosiljevac, 2009). There are several activities that re involved in marketing that can make customer buy a particular product or service. For instance, a company may decide to design their products in a way that it looks desirable to a client through market research and pricing. Also a company may lower price of their products and let their customers learn about the price change as well as making the product available to the potential customers (Silk, 2006). Additionally, it should be noted that marketing finds, anticipates and satisfies buyers competently and gainfully. Marketing entails clear understanding, creation as well as delivery of profitable value to the target market in a way that is superior to competitors’ style. Maintaining a profitable long term relationship with buyers through satisfaction of both an organization’s objectives and customer needs and wants is very essential in marketing. It should be understood that marketing boosts sales aggressively and builds profit via customer satisfaction and loyalty by ensuring quick turnover (Sheth & Sisodia, 2006). A marketing strategy is a long-term plan made by an organization such as a company or a corporation in order to attain some certain targets in their business. However, these business organizations can also adapt other short-term marketing strategies, which are focused to cope with the level of competition in the market. These types of marketing strategies are of great importance as the prime goal of any business is to maximize profit and ensure survival in any business environment. Marketing just like any other business function has really improved due to technological changes (Sheth & Sisodia, 2006). The internet has been the greatest revolution in the modern era for many business owners. It has contributed tremendously for most changes in the way business is done in the global market. Most businesses are using the internet as an effective and efficient way to reach out to many customers. Most businesses are now using the internet to not only advertise, but also to communicate with customers thus boosting their sales. An area that has experienced great change due to internet revolution is advertising (Burrow & Bosiljevac, 2009). The internet is able to provide specific advertisements to target internet users through advertising such as through AdSence managed by Google. Companies have also changed from subscription service advertising to free content advertising in a move aimed at achieving huge numbers of targeted audiences. In addition, sales and marketing through the internet has promoted transparency in the way businesses conduct their activities. Transparency has now been adopted as a new selling and marketing strategy (Silk, 2006). Furthermore social media marketing is gaining website interchange or awareness via twitter, face book, and blogging. Social media marketing programs more often than not strive to generate contents that largely create a center of attention that encourages its users to share amongst them. Commercial information moves starting with one client to the other and most probably resonates for the reason that it seems to move from a dependent, third-party foundation, disparate from the make or firm itself. Face book, twitter and other social media have turn out to be a podium that is without problems accessible to any person who can access internet. Improved communication for firms promotes product consciousness and improved customer care services. There are several companies that have used wonderful marketing strategy in achieving success (Burrow & Bosiljevac, 2009). Apple Company is one of the companies that succeeded in their marketing strategy which catapulted them to greater heights. Apple introduced new technology that was user friendly and very interactive. They also set the price and the expectations level high due to the marketability of their products. Apple became front runner in customer appeal as people waited in line overnight to buy the new phone because of the differentiation that the company introduced in the mobile phone industry (Schneiders, 2011). Unlike any other mobile phone or Smartphone at that time, but like some of the other Apple products were already popular thus enhancing its sale high customer loyalty. Graphics-intensive user interface and intuitive menus and user options were very essential in promoting sales. Although Apple had limited sales initially, they gradually increased their availability through differentiation versions and lower price (Burrow & Bosiljevac, 2009). Service providers have been able to access markets and increase their market base such as AT&T because of its relationship with Apple. Apple achieved an amazing turn around due to its increased commitment to innovativeness that most people refer to as the new digital economy making its success to have generated from having successful products and strategies, not by chasing metrics. Apple has also successfully engineered products such as tablets and Smartphone into a uniquely beautiful, efficient and user friendly way that have made its products marketable and lovable by users (Schneiders, 2011). Google Company has also reached greater heights because of their marketing strategies. Company has greatly benefited from its intensive marketing which contributed to almost 96% of its revenue in 2011 particularly in online advertising. The corporation really collects revenue from its search engine thus making Google’s search engine the most popular search engine globally and it includes Google Patents, Google Books and Image search engine. The company has many online productivity tools such as beta program, AJAX, and Google Docs. It began enterprise market in 2002 with Google Search Appliance which was later followed by Google Apps, geospatial and Chrome books. It has other vital products such as Google translate, Google news in 2002, Android in 2007 , Google Fibre in 2010, Google Goggles, and both Google Wallet and Google+ in 2011(Sutherland, 2012).
