The paper "Developing Mitigation Strategy and Dispute Avoidance Using Project Management Techniques" is a perfect example of a management thesis. The study focused on developing mitigation strategy and dispute avoidance using project management techniques on energy projects disputes. It was guided by the following objectives, to establish a knowledge base about the causes of contractual disputes in the energy projects; the study will also investigate the actual causes of the contractual disputes along with the measures taken to avoid the causes; to examine the various project management tools such as project initiating, planning, execution, control, project closure, communication, risk management, and program management tools in relation to mitigating project disputes; and to discuss and recommend techniques that are feasible to implement in avoidance and mitigation of the disputes.
In this research, both qualitative and quantitative approaches were integrated by the researcher in carrying out the research. The qualitative approach will look at already existing studies on the topic of discussion while the quantitative approach will look at data from the field The research clearly points out that one of the causes of disputes in oil and gas projects is insufficient funding, the lack of enough funds to the project managers leads them to prioritize the activities they have to do in the preparation stages.
The study recommended that the realisation of mitigation strategies and dispute avoidance using project management techniques on energy projects disputes that are integrated in an exemplary manner with the process that is adequate in the realization of the resulting output and the addition of project management realignment procedures.A contractual dispute in the energy sector is common and it arises when people involved in a contract fail to stand by their original agreements. The disputes especially contractual are common and if they are not handled properly disagreements over the contracts can lead to irreversible consequences especially in the relationships between parties.
Some people prefer using a forensic accountant to solve the problem and save time (Ramsey, 2007).
