Developing Future Leaders Name Course Instructor’s name Date: Queen Rania Queen Rania has been recognized as a great leader because of her many contributions to the society she’s a leader with the interests of the less fortunate at heart she is also a leader that is committed to uniting people from different races religions through her involvement in humanitarian issues. The Queen has been for a long time been involved in the global efforts to see that children gain access to education. As leader, she is aware that for any country to develop and for self-improvement education has to be provided. Literacy is an integral part of any countries development (Rania Al Abdullah par.4). Through her ceaseless efforts, she has been able to influence other world leaders such as South African president Jacob Zuma, Gordon Brown of UK and world leaders like the head of FIFA , Sepp Blatter in the launching of 1GOAL an initiative that was aimed at putting over 75 million children in school. She has also been instrumental in urging world leaders to honor their commitments. Queen Rania has also been on the forefront in the promotion of inter cultural oneness and the promotion of understanding of each other. This she has addressed quite effectively through the use of social sites such as Youtube and Facebook and later on Twitter. This has made her one of the more modernized royalties. Through this, she is able to answer questions about Islam and any other misconceptions that people have about Arabs and the Islamic Religion. This is a good way to make use of her status as top 100 of the most powerful women in the world as ranked in Forbes magazine. Internationally, she has over the years in active involvement with the youths and issues affecting them globally, global citizenship, reforms in education, issues affecting women, multiculturalism and philanthropy. These issues affect humanity throughout the universe. Queen Rania has not only been actively involved in the campaigning for education for all but she has written books for children such as Big Read event. Queen Rania wrote “Maha of the Mountains” telling about the challenges of a young girl who wants to get an education. The leadership portrayed by Queen Rania is exceptional. She inspires me in my future career in leadership in various aspects. First, she is a servant leader who puts the interest and needs of the people she serves before her own interests. She is independent and goes an extra mile in her role as a leader to defend the vulnerable population. Besides, Queen Rania mentors me through her concern on improving the lives of the people. She works tirelessly to see that people are empowered to get out of poverty. She also have increased access of education especially for girls which is a major breakthrough not only in the UAE but also in the world. The future leadership in UAE The leadership of UAE in the future will feature more of young leaders. It will be more modernized with the use of the internet in leadership. The leadership is bound to incorporate more women because as modernity increases, the women are becoming more and more informed and their awareness will propel them to positions of leadership. Owing to the current economic status of UAE which is very dependent on petroleum and trade, the introduction of virtual organization to address the issues affecting global markets will also be an important feature in the future leadership of UAE. Considering the gradual shift from the use of petroleum products the future of this country will have to device ways to come up with another form of income (Rugh 154). Globalization has had its effect on the global market and UAE has not been an exception. This issue is going to be a major influence in the future leadership of UAE where the markets are moving to other foreign countries with new potential in other markets. In this regard, UAE is seen as a potential market and through its opening up to the global market, a lot of economic growth is expected in the future (Knutson and Mirando 116). However, this process is long and involving and it would require the political leadership in UAE to be as effective as possible for it to be a success. UAE is a country that has a rich culture and the people despite their differences co exist without conflict. In the future leadership of UAE should aim at involving the people more and more in the governance of the country and to showcase the countries rich and varied cultures to the world. How to deal with multicultural workforce Workplace leadership in the 21st century has become even harder with the influx of multi cultural workforces. This has meant that on top of the challenge of leadership and management a new problem of dealing with the multi cultural workforces cannot be ignored. It is becoming more complex and more challenging, as cultural diversity in the workplace increases. It is now apparent that leaders have to come up with new yet effective ways of dealing with this predicament (De Bono 148). World economy Globalization has lead to a major inter cultural workforce. This has meant therefore that there is an increase in the numbers of people from different countries who have to interact daily and therefore a problem in how to deal with the conflicts that are likely to crop. Leaders of today need to ensure that organisational policies that they adopt and practices in their companies accommodate the different cultural orientation of the workforce (De Bono 184). Because of cultural diversity, future leaders need special skills to ensure creativity, innovation and involvement. The leaders need to adopt new visions that ensure that the people from different cultures find a sense of satisfaction and commitment. A leader in today’s multi cultural society ought to be ready to learn and be educated by their workforce. This is so because the concepts that worked before may not work today and the subordinates may be better placed on these issues than probably the leader. The issue of communication also is essential in multi racial business world because it ensures that the work forces are kept together and in case of any problem, it is addressed as early as possible. Communication also ensures that the issues and latest developments in the business are easily learnt and the necessary implementations are undertaken (Smith and Mraz 68). Ensuring effective leadership Effective leadership is essential in any organizational survival and success in modern day’s harsh economic times. Effective leadership today entails having a leader who is ethical, has desirable attitude, and is humane. This is so because in most, if not in all instances it concerns with dealing with people. Effective leadership demands that there be training undertaken especially with the changing times. There should be constant upgrading to ensure that the leaders stay ahead of the competition. Companies and organizations today deal with the issues of training through the establishment of universities and other training institutions to ensure that their staff are well trained and are effective in the delivery of their duties (Sperry 78). Organizations have today also adopted the use of action training this is where the trainees learn from, because they are tailored to suit the specific company requirements. This gives the trainees an experience of the real environment that they are expected to deal with and this is an excellent way of creating effective leadership. This is also a way of developing leadership from within the company rather than conducting of recruitment where qualifications can be forged (Sperry 104). This method ensures that the leaders that are developed are well versed with the company operations due to the on the job training they get to know about the company’s history and its vision. The process of mentoring and coaching is also a way of ensuring future effective leadership where one is made to learn and work under the supervision of a senior who has had an experience; the mentor. Coaching ensures that the person being trained is as well suited to the companies needs as possible. Works Cited Carroll, A.B.
