BACKGROUND

The entire world is going global. Therefore, this has prompted the need for the aviation industry to comply with the strict environmental regulations that set on pollution. Indeed, the estimated pollution rate of aircraft by 2030 would be 43 gigatonnes of contamination. (Ramesh,2012). Certainly, this is a great margin and has promoted the incorporation of technology in the design of aircraft that are environmentally friendly.

The aircraft design that has proposed in the project utilizes the existing technology to not only fuel the plane but also ensure that GHC reduces emissions per nautical mile. Also, the aircraft will be using biofuel to propel tithe technology has been tested and tried in some aircraft like Continental Airlines and has proved successful. The aeroplanes using biofuel technology contribute immensely to the reduction in pollution and the cost incurred in fuelling the aircraft( Sadraey, 2012).

The biofuel technology that the aircraft will use will utilize the algae and jatropha components as fuel. Indeed, these components play an integral role in propelling the aircraft and also reducing pollution. Also, the two have been used before in research and found suitable for use in biodiesel vehicles(Marsh, 2015,p.190).

In addition to this aspect, the oil prices in the world have been escalating tremendously; this has resulted in the companies within the aviation industry looking for ways of survival. The design of the aircraft that take into consideration the exploration of alternative fuels has been viewed as one way of remedying the industry. Apart from seeking alternative fuels the increment in the speed has to be taken into consideration. This aspect relates to the nautical miles flown by the passengers. However, the engines should be capable of combusting the fuel selected to used at a faster rate resulting in the increment of speed. Additionally, this aspect will be very crucial for both the passenger and their aeroplane. Therefore, the reason for the statement is that there will be an increase in the number of trips that the aircraft can take in a day increasing the revenue for the company. On the other hand, the passengers stand to gain on arriving at their place of destination on time (Graham, Hall, and Morales, 2014,p.38).

Additionally, the aspect of noise pollution has often been a notion within the aviation industry. The scientist has stepped in and is trying to devise measures that will ensure that the pilot can easily fly the aeroplane with minimal noise. The noises often generated by the aircraft arise from the spoilers. They play an integral role in the landing and when the aeroplane is taking off. The noise generated is as a result of the fluctuations on the position of the aircraft. The noises are more pronounced in the smaller passenger aeroplanes (Graham, Hall, and Morales, 2014,p.38). Because of the technology the design has applied this aspect of the fractal grid spoilers. The spoilers tend to deflect the impact that occurs when the aircraft is landing hence reducing the noise generated from the aeroplane.
