Reflection: Managing Personal and Organisational Change By (Name) The Name of the Class (Course) Professor (Tutor) The Name of the School (University) The City and State where it is located The Date Introduction Managing my time is a result of choosing topics relative to the concept of personal and organizational change, continuing professional development and emotional intelligence. In this reflection, I will summarize and summarize the potential to manage personal and organizational change within the work environment. Within the social media, I realized that the concept of leadership and organizational management comes across as one of the most well covered topics in the psychological journals currently. I had to ensure that the leadership role is one of the most pivotal point in the success of both organizational and individual process. I realized that the transition of the organizational process seems to be an initiative of change management. I also discovered that organizations invest a huge amount of resources in their leaders hence the need to vest their leaders before investing in them. While managing my time and energy, I realized that it is mandatory that companies invest the most appropriate techniques to bring out excellent leaders wherever possible. Time Management Having come across the concept of time management, it is my basic form of understanding that prioritizing of key activities is the key to proper management of time. The lessons however gathered over time showed that each preconceived idea needs to be designed relative to the lessons being taught. In order to have a clear form of how to manage time, it is relative to how much of an insight having no clear vision affects an efficient workout system. There are days when I felt that doing too much work did not affect the need to have a supervisor. Written goals on the other hand need to be followed and have a written & signed by relevant authorities including myself. In order to understand the concept of time, I also sought advice from several books that were about self-motivation. Time management is mainly a supplement of how well one manages themselves. I agree with the scholars that change is inertly unsettling for people regardless of the level within the organization. Scholars all fail when it comes to dealing with change, it will all come down to the CEO since he is the one tasked with making sure that all people within the organization accept change. I noticed that the CEO needs to have an executive team that mainly handles the major changes that occur within the organization where people understand culture while understanding the culture and behaviors of the employees and employers. I noticed that each individual needs to understand what is expected of him or her when dealing with major changes in an organization. One of the perks of having responsibility I learnt is that the manager and the entire leadership team understands the culture of the individuals involved in the change. All corporate and field staff need to understand that it is the responsibility of the managers to make sure that corporate changes that happen in an organization are well followed and those people that the change occurs to are comfortable with the change. Professional development is coupled with the task of making sure that individuals and organizations have the need to improve the performance. Results need to be oriented and ought to be immediate, measurable and specific to the needs of my organization. Student learning is significant in making sure that quality and consistency are the major focus relative to organizational goals set. One of the perks needed is supporting teachers in ensuring that students observe professional behavior when employed. From a professional point of view, I learnt that it is vital to make sure that students learn about professionalism and carry it forward to the professional setting (Brackett et al, 2011). There are strategies that I learnt that suggest that the reshaping of the development process. One of the issues that concerns the development process that I learnt were the pragmatic decisions are crucial to the development process. As such, the strategies aim to explain the conditions necessary for the development plans in the organization I managed. Development plans need to be practical and focused on the documents necessary for learning within an organization. A pragmatic plan is necessary for drafting the documents necessary for professional growth. It is necessary for an individual to take responsibility to learn about what is needed for professional growth. On a relatively low position, any individual regardless of status can achieve professional growth. An individual can focus on the specific development under which he or she can form policies and strategies to achieve that goal. Creativity In a team based environment, I realized that I needed to listen to what others had to say in terms of what they could offer theoretically. A thought process is crucial in making sure that the projects run smoothly especially considering that there is well-rounded justification of the correct form of reasoning. Embracing others people’s opinion is crucial in brainstorming the best strategies to combat a particular problem. As an individual and a potential leader listening to the opinions of others, it is crucial to handle criticism in a positive manner. As such, I need to learn about a more expansive way to handle new decisions that everyone is comfortable with. There are instances that I felt that I welcomed negative thoughts especially when I felt that others did not value the opinion that I offered. Each individual needs to learn that each individual needs to focus and each individual has something significant to offer especially considering how well each one of us understands the processes. I learnt that one of the ways that a strategy will work depends on the development plans in reference to making short plans that will work for long term. I saw the short term goals will involve development activities that will reflect on the goals set by an individual. Some of the lessons will involve short term goals that involve strategies written down on a list. I agree that having a plan checklist will ensure that seeking strategic goals will involve a measurable action over a measurable amount of time. The purpose of having a development checklist is purposely to make sure that performance is not affected by other activities. Within my management program, time management is essential in the development being specific, strategic, and realistic and be limited to an amount of time where each activity will be checked off. I agree that having a checklist allows the identification and description of the desired teaching approach where there was the conversion of a development target. There needs to be a checklist that leads to a new adoption agency that will enable people to overcome barriers that may limit change. In addition, it is paramount to alert colleagues through the checklist hence enlist the help of others in the implementation of the plan. I reiterate that having a good checklist ensures that what is appropriate to learn in reference to employees, employers and within learning institutions. Personal Development One of the concepts that I discovered while dealing with change is considering the complex environment of the leadership ladder, I knew that it is impromptu to understand the hierarchy of the leadership. On a professional level, I understood that there is the organization and individuals who are tasked with the influence of ensuring organizational goals have been met and followed. I therefore saw it fit to study the concept of leadership further. As such, it is mandatory that a leader gains full insight into what the leaders require in terms of reaching the goal set by an organization. One of the concepts I understood was that a leader is tasked with the need to have an organization achieve its goals in terms of power relationships where the main focus is on the importance of the self-regulated complexity of the organizational process. I also realized that the ability as a leader to have superior work performance irrespective of change and transition is mandatory to reduce implications in the organizational process hence why I practiced such leadership prospects. While conducting, I noticed that the study was done in satisfaction of the host affiliations wish, to reveal the complexities of association by inspecting what impacts it's manager and pioneers were having on their fusing circumstances (far reaching scale and downsized scale), and whether these impacts were surged by the change association program that is beginning now in progress inside the connection. I examined the implications of this and found out that a fundamental bit of related science that has been done attempting to establish a connection between how far an individual needs to go while leading others. One of the concepts required that I learnt is that personal change is essential to the challenging and difficult since it is the responsibility of an individual to be comfortable with the ways of dealing with new changes. Personal Change Management I found that the following are some of the ways that people need to adopt new strategies when it comes to change management. After much deliberation, I found out that one of the ways to deal with personal change is learning new ways to take care of oneself. It is vital to take care of oneself through practicing a balanced diet, exercise more and get enough rest. I also advised other people that it is also vital to take time to relax and practice healthy hygiene’s methods. Taking time out allows an individual to be better equipped to be in a better framework of mind to handle any type of change. I also advised my fellow members that another way that an individual can deal with change is by being open and flexible. I also noticed that it is vital to note that change can occur at any one point hence the need to always accept and adjust when the change occurs. One of notable qualities I noticed was the ability to be able to let go of expectations especially considering what goes on in the world. I realized that most people want to settle into the comfortable path routines where you realize that your present day routine needs to be on a temporary capacity. I, however realized that another way that an individual can deal with change is staying positive while putting it in perspective (Cheney et al, 2010). Through the program, I noticed that the ability to have emotional responses is a reflection of the attitudes presented. It is possible to have the positive outcomes of change in order to often determine what outcomes are possible. Scholars advocate that it is vital to take control of one’s life and I agree with the scholars. I understood that it is vital to use critical thinking skills as a way of determining the best approaches to take charge and determine the best course of action. After determining the best course of action, it becomes clear that changes determine the best way to get into a routine or lifestyle when something is not working. Having the right mindset when dealing with different issue that needs a vigorous change especially one that is anticipated. Every situation needs a point of reconnaissance where making adjustments. I noticed that dealing with unexpected change is one of the virtues that an individual can adapt to. I also that preventing stress and anxiety needs to happen to every individual who is willing to deal with change. It is important to note that change in life is inevitable. It is vital to note that change in life is inevitable hence advised to not fear or avoid change but rather try to avoid it. Through interacting with business mongrels, I noticed that business executives have the constant struggle of dealing with change. The resistance may take a few phases depending on the persistent struggle coupled with bafflement and recalcitrant. For example, there is the concept of persistent reduction in output where the main focus is on the pseudological changes. I also realized that there should be the realization that some changes can be troublesome and not all those who encounter change will be open to it (Pvm et al, 2010. One of the concepts that I gathered was that business executives must realize that a continuous change in the industry will often lead to resistant changes especially when it comes to identifying the changes that occur in an office setting. For example, let us deal with a situation where a company has to lay off some workers. Laying off workers is one of the toughest issues that management in a company can deal with and it is one of the concepts I had to learn. As such, management needs to learn how to deal with the changes in employment. On the other side, I realized that employees have the burden of getting a new job since they will have to be laid off. There needs to be a formal approach between employees and employers should there be a big change like people being laid off. While among the leadership team, I realized that one needs to be aware of the big changes that occur in an organization and perform data collection, analysis, implement and plan about the change process. One of the changes that I noticed that what can be implemented is known as change-management approach where there has to be an integrated program design and decision making where strategic direction is the main way forward. Immediately after data collection, the way forward should be after a realistic assessment of the organizations readiness and the capacity to change relative to the organizational change in history. Emotional Intelligence I agree that the concept of emotional intelligence over time has seen it become one of the most popular topics in the business world. The concept of emotional intelligence is associated with creative leadership where leaders understand and develop competency in the workplace. Time has seen the slight development of emotional intelligence in the workplace is part of my resume. There have been sessions conducted in the workplace where managers have adopted short sessions that move beyond the conventional method of technical know-how to expand emotional intelligence through sessions. In addition, I agree that having a tool allows feedback from the training sessions adopted. The feedback tool is essential in learning key leadership skills where perspectives are related to career derailment. There is the question of whether emotional intelligence is related to specific behaviors and how it affects leadership effectiveness. I understood that the findings of related literature associate with emotional intelligence have several perspectives related to leadership effectiveness. Emotional intelligence will involve the following; Self-Awareness Having a balance between a personal life and work Building and mending of relationships Having a decisive mind The concept of confronting employees especially when it comes to change management. Considering the concept of participative management is crucial in the reflection of having an initiative relative to relationship building skills in the workplace. I understood that out of all the skills and perspectives necessary in participative management, independency is key. Participative management is crucial to having a measure of change especially to foster relationships, control impulses while understanding emotions of others. As a leader, it is my responsibility to make sure that your employees are at ease especially in the workplace. As a leader, having the right kind of emotions is crucial to helping others control their emotions. Managers who listen to the concerns of others and help them achieve a balance in their workplace. The concept of building and mending relationships in the workplace. The concept of internal and external relationships is consequential to impulse while making sure employer employee behavior is maintained. Another concept necessary is the concept of being straightforward and maintaining composure when dealing with change. The concept of making a situation whereby stress is reduced is a result of what appears to be a leader having the ability to balance between personal life and work. Conclusion All in all, I learnt that the art of emotional intelligence seems to be of capacity that individuals tend to recognize that different feelings and each individual needs to learn about emotional information to guide especially when dealing with change management. I learnt that emotional intelligence is the concept that leaders use to make sure the models adopted in an organization. I also agreed that scholars agree that change management is a consequent of the different techniques adopted by an organization to handle both external and internal affairs. Behavioral dispositions have the ability to conceal abilities necessary in the workplace. I agree that having the right skillset is necessary for effectively managing change regardless of how big or small the change is hence able to adapt to it sooner. From what I gathered, there have been studies that show that having the capability to adopt to change is crucial in making sure that should change occur, the individual in question is in a better position to handle everything. Notably so, the ability of an individual to effectively manage change when it comes down to personal performance both professionally and individually. Through the programs that I underwent, the art of emotional capacity to handle change is relevant to skills gathered over time. On the other hand, it is advisable that employees learn how to handle extreme changes in an upbeat manner hence should be strong mentally. I contemplated that the theory surrounding the concept of what exactly is needed to make sure that change does not affect emotion. Research and theory tend to suggest that employees with a past that spells doom is considerably one of the most dangerous concepts that the community needs to make sure that practictioner do not accept it. The debate has long been wanting to make sure that my employees learn about emotional intelligence. Such is due to the fact that employees and employers need to learn the art of dealing with change from a cognitive revolution. The paper has aimed to describe some of the reasons why emotional intelligence is quite important when handling change. All around, partners seem to welcome new' abilities to control their focal purposes and shock, to withstand undermining events and irritating circumstances, to be content with life, and to be a beautiful individual from the get-together.
