According to the research conducted by the AMADORI Company, individual performance relates to emotional intelligence. The study creates an active link between the hard outcomes, of results and the soft skills of emotional intelligence. The skills are learnable, and the company should hire managers who possess and exhibit such skills. Emotional intelligence can be described as the array of emotional, personal, social abilities and related skills that influence individuals’ ability to cope up with the working environments. There is a model of emotional intelligence that can help an individual effective in recognizing emotions of different groups. The model has three stages. In the first stage, a person learns ways of identifying their feelings and that of the group. They are also able to discriminate between emotions and expressions. In the next group, the emotions help individuals to make sound decisions. In the third stage, individuals employ the knowledge of emotions. They can recognize relationship among transitions and emotions from different emotions. In the last stage, individuals can manage their emotions by their behavior. This theory explains how emotional intelligence affects the improvement of an individual. Emotional intelligence can also affect individuals performance in a positive way .this is can be explained using four different clusters such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management. Self-awareness is knowing what one feels. Self-management enforces the ability of an individual to regulate any stressing emotions and prevent any emotional impulsivity. Social awareness entails the ability of an individual to read any non-verbal cues. The relationship management is the ability of an individual to influence or understand the emotions of other individuals. This theory also explains the importance of emotional intelligence to different individuals in performing their functions in any business organization. The director of the human resource at the Amadori Company, Paolo Pampanini suggested that within a shorter period, the new system designed by the two companies improved the competence of management in the organization. Discussion Question 1 Did Amadori and McDonalds do the right thing AMADORI and McDonalds did the right thing in assessing how emotional intelligence affects the performance of an individual, organization engagements and the performance of the organization. Emotional Intelligence is a significant variable in accessing the effectiveness of an individual, whether as a manager in an organization or a member of the society. Most individuals often react promptly to any situation that brings irreparable damage in their lives or the conditions they do not like. Emotional intelligence will help the individuals in the AMADORI Company to avoid such conditions that may cause damage to their lives and conditions that they may not like. This will help improve the performance of the company since the individuals can undertake their duties without any interference. The individuals can learn or practice the emotional intelligence in order to be well equipped with the intelligence. Again, for an organization to function or operate efficiently, emotional intelligence should be imbibed in their managers. The performance of the AMADORI Company cannot be increased by the emotional intelligence of one person. AMADORI Company should train their employees on emotional intelligence. The company should conduct series of interviews in order to identify the individuals with recent emotional intelligence. This helps the company improve on its productions, and the employees can tackle any problem that may arise during their operation. In the research conducted by Harvard, the managers with high intelligence quotient were not as successful as the managers with high intelligence quotient. Individuals with high intelligent quotient can win a noble prize, but motivating them and handling such individuals needs a high level of interpersonal relations. The interpersonal relationship is an essential component of emotional intelligence. The manager of the AMADORI Company should be well equipped in order to engage individuals with high intelligence quotient in the company. This will give them the relevant skills on how to handle and motivate them. Discussion Question 2 If there was something Better to be Done Based on the research done, the HR team of the AMADORI Company were to include the effects of emotional intelligence in managing stress in their organization. Stress is often a major challenge to the health of the workers and that of the organization at large. Stress can be caused by different pressures at work or home. It can be a significant problem for the AMADORI Company as well as their workers. Stress can be prevented by having good management and create a healthy working environment for the workers. In any case an employee is stressed; the manager should be aware and help the stressed employee. However, the company cannot help protect the workers from stress originating from outside the organization. They cannot assist the employees on pressures arising from their work in the company. Stress that arises from employees work is when they are given loads of work that does not their knowledge or skills. The employees need support from the supervisors and the colleagues when they are stressed up. Stress can also result from the difference between pressures and demand on individuals. The work pressure exceeds the ability of the worker to cope up with the work and where the workers ability and knowledge are not well utilized. The workers are affected by tough working conditions such as tight deadlines, high workload, pressure to perform, type of work and long working hours. There are also interpersonal conflicts in the organization such as the relationship with peers and with the boss. Experts have believed that stress directly impact the performance of an organization and the well-being of the employees. Employees who are stressed are always absent from work, stress also leads to the decrease in productivity in the organization. It leads to irritability, fatigue, errors and poor communication. Continuous stress without any proper mechanism to cope up with the stress may lead to mental and physical problems. Organizations should provide the employees with an environment free from stress. The organizations should conduct various workshops and offsite picnics, and inter-departmental games. The companies should also use qualified mentors and encourage communication to enhance interactions in the workplace. Most employees also were exposed to counseling facilities in order to avoid stress. Some companies also employ nutritionists who provide healthy foods in the organization and advise the employees on how to live a healthy life. A psychologist can also be used to help counsel the employees. Experts suggest that many organizations are trying to do away with the issue of stress, but more time should be used to ensure the problem of stress is adequately dealt with. From the text, it is stated that for the organization to operate efficiently, emotional intelligence should be incorporated into the top management of the organization. Pampanini identified key goals; that is the application of the competencies of the company or organization to be stronger and development where the managers support and guide the employees’ development. This should consider the stress that affect the employees and the managers of the AMADORI Company .they need to use their emotional intelligence to identify workers who are stressed and have a clear way of preventing the stress. Thi help to improve the performance of the employees and the manager making the company gain more profits. The metrics and assessments are used to state and define the goals of the cycle. This face is majorly concerned with enrollment. Any company needs proper engagement for it to prosper. Many individuals should be engaged to the AMADORI Company to help improve its operations. The stage needs to be improved in the AMADORI Company in order to increase its operations. The goals of the change should be clearly stated. This will give appropriate direction to the members of the organization as to what they need to achieve at the end of the change. Discussion Question 4 Alternative process of enhancing emotional intelligence in the AMADORI Company There can be an alternative method of enhancing emotional intelligence in the workplace. In the first stage, the workers should recognize their emotions. Individuals should be aware of their feelings. They should also take into considerations the feelings of others in their working places. Leaders who are emotionally equipped can understand what affect their employees’ productivity and work. This will make the individual aware different from work can prevent their work and find an alternative way of handling matters. By recognizing the emotions of others, a person can work with different groups of people within the workplace. The AMADORI Company can use this stage to improve its performance and retain more profits. The second stage is facilitating emotions of other individuals. An emotionally intelligent leader can make different individuals feel good about themselves. He is also able to make such individuals productive in their workplace. Emotions should be facilitated to help achieve high standards in the AMADORI Company. In the third stage, the individuals should be able to understand emotions. Individuals who have the high emotional intelligence not only recognize their emotions and that of others, but also understand the feelings. To understand emotions, one needs to consider the chain of feelings that happen as different events unfold. The AMADORI Company can effectively use this stage to increase on their operations. The managers should be able to understand different feelings of their employees in order to create a conducive working place. Finally, individuals should be ready to manage their emotions. Leaders who are emotionally intelligent can control their emotions and that of others in the organization. This will help create and inspire passion in different individuals. The AMADOR Company should equip their managers with this skill to help improve their operations. The company should use these four stages to recruit new workers into the company. In conclusion, it is evident that emotional intelligence plays a significant role in the general performance of the organization. Organizations should ensure their workers are well trained in emotional intelligence; they should conduct series of interviews to identify managers and workers who possess the emotional skills. The employees should be engaged to the company for the company to achieve its intended goals. They should be ready to work with the managers to attain the set standards. This will help the organization to be successful in its operations. When the organization is engaged, then more profits will be realized. The Company should recognize the stress of the employees and address the stress effectively. When the employees stress is not managed, the company is bound to fail in its mission.
