Conflicts in business arise due to the fact that business has to deal with humans and the irrational behavior of humans will make conflicts a part of the organization. This was the condition which was prevalent in Personal Investment Pty Ltd and will require finding out ways through which the conflicts can be reduced. Businesses have to look towards finding a mechanism through which the business is able to handle the conflicts and able to ensure better strategy for the development of the future. This report presents the different conflicts that Personal Investment Pty Ltd is facing and the reasons for those conflicts to arise in the business. The report further looks towards ascertaining the manner in which the conflict will be solved and presents the manner in which Personal Investment Pty Ltd will be able to handle the conflict so that the business is able to take better decisions and develop a direction for the future. Background about the case Personal Investment Pty Ltd is an investment company which invests in the market and looks towards ensuring safety of the investment as their priority. The company has people at the top level who have been associated with the company for a long period of time and still relies on traditional method. The company recently hired Tabitha which has resulted in widespread changes in the manner the business works. Employing a new person having the required experience and knowledge in the concerned field has brought new dimension to the business. Tabitha has changed the course of the business and looks towards investing in business that provides higher return which has increased the risk. Her style of working has caught the attention of the younger generation and they favor her. This has also resulted in the employees who were associated with the company for over a period of time to change their method of working. This has created differences between the employees of the organization at all levels and especially between the senior level and Tabitha. This has given rise to conflict and the business has been engulfed with a situation where they have to look towards making a decision regarding the future working style of Personal Investment Pty Ltd and the future of Tabitha in the organization. Sources of Conflicts Personal Investment Pty Ltd shows different conflicts which the business is facing and has to deal with it so that they are able to manage the resources in such a manner that it provides them competitive advantage. Some of the sources of conflicts that Personal Investment Pty Ltd is facing are as Personal Investment Pty Ltd is facing a conflict regarding the strategy of working to be adopted in the organization. The organization has looked towards using a strategy of being conservative and ensuring safety of their investment and not to be worried about the return. Tabitha has looked towards altering the method of doing things and is looking towards aggressive and investing in those companies which provide higher return irrespective of the risk involved in it. Thus, the different strategy that Personal Investment Pty Ltd is looking to use has resulted conflicts within the organization The disagreement between the top level executives and Tabitha on the manner in which changes have to be implemented within the organization has given rise to conflicts. The difference in the thinking and irrational behavior being demonstrated by both the top level executives and Tabitha has complicated the matter and given rise to conflicts Lack of enthusiasm shown by the top level executives in hiring Tabitha has been reflected in the working style. Since, the top level executives were not willing to recruit Tabitha but compromised and recruited her has made it difficult for them to ensure that they remain with her. The problem has further intensified due to the fact that the younger generation like the style of working adopted by Tabitha whereas the older generation don’t want to change. This has divided the organization and has given rise to conflict due to which the organization has been unable to manage the resources and has given rise to conflict within the organization. Type of Conflicts The different conflict that Personal Investment Pty Ltd is facing highlights that the company is facing power conflict. This type of conflicts arises due to the position or status that the person has in the organization. This is widely seen in case of Personal Investment Pty Ltd as Tabitha and the top level executives are facing power sharing conflicts as they are looking towards inflicting a methodology through which both of them are looking towards using their pressure and trying to influence other that the decision taken by them is correct and appropriate (Cornell, 2002). This has resulted in complicating the matter for Personal Investment Pty Ltd as power conflict has also divided the organization into two with a certain section of the employee supporting Tabitha whereas the others are still relying on the traditional methods The other conflict that can be seen is the change management conflict which Personal Investment Pty Ltd is facing. Tabitha has looked towards changing the manner in which the organization works and wants the organization to adopt her style of working. The organization top level executives still want to continue with the traditional style which has given rise to change management conflict (Cornell, 2002). The difference that exist between the thinking style and manner in which the work will be progressed has resulted in creating conflicts and has made it difficult for the organization to come together. Approaches to conflict management The manner in which conflicts are been seen in Personal Investment Pty Ltd requires that the situation is handled and solved so that the organization gains. This was depicted in the organization as they look towards taking a stand where they looked towards solving the conflicts towards mutual dialogues. The management instead of looking to remove her from the job or take any other measure has looked towards developing a methodology where they look towards ensuring that the problem faced by Personal Investment Pty Ltd is solved through mutual dialogues. The approach taken by Personal Investment Pty Ltd is sound and relevant to the situation as it will ensure that the management looks into understanding the perspective of both the side. This will help to ensure that both the sides are heard and based on it a decision is taken which will benefit most. Further, looking towards adopting a strategy where they are involved in dialogue will also help to understand the manner in which both the sides look at the situation (Schoch, 2000). This will help to make a strategy through which Personal Investment Pty Ltd will be able to benefit in the future. Strategies to solve the conflict Personal Investment Pty Ltd based on the different conflicts that they are facing need to find out a way which will ensure that the problem is solved. Personal Investment Pty Ltd can look towards selecting a new person for the job or can allow Tabitha to ensure the changes but that would mean that certain section of the employees won’t be satisfied. This will have an effect on the morale and will also raise obstacle and concern regarding the future strategy taken by Personal Investment Pty Ltd. This requires that Personal Investment Pty Ltd looks towards finding a mid way out which looks towards both the side and ensures that the changes are made in such a manner that the business is able to benefit over a longer period of time (Wolff, 2008). Personal Investment Pty Ltd thereby needs to ensure that Tabitha is allowed to adopt her policy but slowly so that the employees who are working for the organization are able to adopt the changes. This will require that Personal Investment Pty Ltd looks towards making the changes in such a manner that Tabitha changes and looks towards improving the business potential for the future. This will ensure that Tabitha is able to move forward with the changes by implementing them slowly and at the same time providing the employees to be able to cope with the changes (Schneckener, 2002). Adopting a mid way stand will ensure that employees who have been part of the organization are able to stay with the organization and at the same time the business is able to make the changes which will help them to improve the business process. This strategy will thereby help Personal Investment Pty Ltd to make the changes in the most efficient manner and will guide them to accomplish the objectives in a better way. Manner in which the strategy will be implemented Personal Investment Pty Ltd has to develop a process through which the strategy for the business will be implemented. This on the forefront will require that Tabitha understand the actual situation that the organization is facing. If Tabitha is able to control her emotions and ensure that a gradual process is used to make the changes will find the support of the top level executives and the employees. This will help Personal Investment Pty Ltd to ensure that the employees are also keen to change as it will help to improve their opportunity of improving the business and will also provide an incentive to gain in the future (Brancati, 2009). The strategy that Personal Investment Pty Ltd has to further look towards ensuring that time frames need to be developed where they will look towards implementing the changes in a manner that determines efficiency. The employees and the top level managers need to understand that intensifying competition has made it important for the business to change and by implementing the process of change slowly will ensure that the business is able to gain efficiency (Wolff, 2009). Further, the process of change should also look towards removing the differences that exist between the top level managers and Tabitha. The fact that they have a high responsibility towards the organization it is important that a mechanism is developed to remove their differences. This will help Personal Investment Pty Ltd to implement the changes in a better way as these changes will facilitate the business and develop the process through which the Personal Investment Pty Ltd will be able to grow. This will help Personal Investment Pty Ltd in their future strategy and guide the entire workforce to change and devlop into a better business unit (Wolff and Weller, 2005). Conclusion Personal Investment Pty Ltd is dealing with different conflicts due to difference between the opinion of employees and executives in the organization. This has created differences and has given rise to power conflict. This has divided the organization into two and requires to be fixed so that better decisions are taken. To ensure most effectiveness it is essential that Personal Investment Pty Ltd looks towards removing the differences between the top level executives and Tabitha so that a formula which looks towards changing gradually so that the employees are able to accept it is developed. This will also require building a fundamental through which the process of change is developed and Personal Investment Pty Ltd is able improve their business operations and work together as a unit with little or no conflicts.
