The paper 'Lentil as Anything Intervention " is a good example of management coursework. In facilitating change within organizations, various interventions in the change management exist. Cummings and Worley (2008) classify them into four approaches that include human process, techno-structural, strategic change, and human resource management interventions. An intervention is a set of sequenced and planned actions or events that is intended to assist the organization in increasing and improving its effectiveness. It is crucial to note that interventions purposely disrupt the status quo. Human resource management interventions involve goal setting, performance appraisal, reward systems, career planning and development, managing workforce diversity, and employee stress and wellness. Human resource management deals with staff management that is a key element in expanding Lentil as Anything. The unskilled voluntary labor force is a major element that needs to be intervened with immediate effect. This is towards improving labor-force service delivery to the company. Human process interventions involve on the other hand coaching, training and development, process consultation and team building, third-party interventions (conflict resolution), organization confrontation meeting, intergroup relationships, and large-group interventions as illustrated by Biswajeet, (2005).

Lentil as Anything Interventions

According to Lisa (2010), there is a need for interventions in order to improve its effectiveness in terms of service delivery among workers as well as the quality of services and food offered at lentil as Anything. Rapid business growth in Richmond, St. Kilda, and Collingwod calls for interventions in terms of training and development of individuals. There is also the need for improved HRM support. This will ensure there is reduced staff stress with increasing job roles. There is a need to intervene at Lentil as Anything in terms of human resource management because of undefined job roles or responsibilities. Career planning and development is a key aspect with the increasing growth of Lentil as Anything as various job demands and roles increases. There is also a need for managing the increasing workforce diversity in the 3 stores. Managing and catering for employee stress and wellness is a major factor in the development of staff. This is a key determinant towards having effective teamwork. As illustrated to Marc, (2008), Human process interventions are required as an effort for Lentil as Anything to improve and cater to increasing workforce demand. Due to its rapid development, there is an extensive need for training and development of the workforce or staff. This is towards ensuring there is adequate knowledge and skills among the staff as the business grows. Adequate coaching of staff is a key factor in ensuring the effective delivery of quality services. Human process interventions in terms of third party interventions or conflict resolution are crucial in reducing any arising staff conflicts. Poor financial planning and budgeting have led to great debts at Lentil as Anything. This major issue calls for human process intervention in order to reduce the piling debts within the restaurant.

Thomas & Christopher (2008), argues that similarities between human resource management and human process intervention are that they are both meant to improve on the quality and working of the organization. They are both meant to improve the work quality of the staff in terms of skills. Human resource management and human process interventions are both meant towards managing the workforce. They are meant to improve the working conditions such as job design and job roles of the staff. In both interventions, improvements in terms of skills development are major characteristics.
