The paper "Workplace Development Programmes on the Learning Environment of the Knowledge-Based Economy" is a wonderful example of a management article review.This article is a presentation at the conferences of Nordic Research in 2001. The article addresses issues of workplace development and learning which it states that it has been the focus of many organizations, labor markets, the government, researchers and many industries. The article further makes us understand that workplace development is simple by continuous absenteeism, dissatisfaction in job places, industrial action, and labor turnover.

Thus learning and development in workplaces are programmers that are launched in order to raise the quality of working life, promoting management and cooperation of labor. Learning and development in the workplace ensure at improving the innovativeness, competitiveness, and productivity of companies because workers are given powered and updated on the most recent methods of production. The article further goes through the challenges and questions faced during development and learning in the workplace.

In addition, the article explores the trends in enterprise workforce and organization utilization which arises as a result of learning and development in the workplace. Learning and development in the workplace demand high level of unambiguous knowledge which the companies regard as useful in order to reduce the costs of outsourcing from outside. The article observes that increased dynamic and networked workplaces also demand new strategies and programs. As development needs and problems facing workplaces become more intricate, the article observes that the need for continuous development and learning in the workplace has also become increasingly important.

Having the required expertise which enables a person to successfully deal with the intricate problems arising from the ever-changing business environment, therefore, calls for a connection of different types of expertise which is only possible through workplace learning and development. The article concludes by stating that if workplace programs for development prove inadequate to face the question and challenges dynamism in workplaces, then the economy and the organizations are doomed to fail.

The article presents real scenarios about learning and development in the workplace and the need to have such programs in organizations. Hence, from my point of view, the article touches on important issues in many organizations in the contemporary world which need to be observed in order to ensure that the workforce is well motivated and well empowered to carry out their tasks effectively. The article is therefore useful in many organizations that embrace learning and development in their organizations.
