The company develops signature projects and builds new communities. The vision of Qatari is to develop and progress the country to new level (Qatari Diar, 2012). They aim to be the leader of the entire real estate company for the customers, shareholders and employees. The goal of Qatari is to excel and stay consistent in all the steps they take, to stay enthusiastic and motivated and to always look for innovation and continuous improvement. They aim to build trust and integrity in the business (Qatari Diar, 2012). Qatari objectives are to provide artistic service to buyers and generate profit and satisfaction for a long run relationship. They ensure customer satisfaction, achieving growth on the customer’s investment, protecting the environment and to maintain a mutual relationship with the shareholders in the company. Qatari is a customer oriented company, as they undertake various innovative projects and believe in quality and productivity. The company objective is to be ethical, right and fair. They follow good governance, rules and regulations. The goal of a company is long term, while objectives are short term and both are different from each other, which provide measurable techniques for the organization (Qatari Diar, 2012). Task 2: Research Methodology Research methodology is the theoretical and systematical analysis of the steps which is applied to a particular field. It consists of the deep analysis of the principle and methods which is associated with particular division of knowledge (Daniel & Sam, 2011). It comprises of qualitative, quantitative techniques, models and diagrams to make research easy and accessible. A research methodology does not intend to give solutions to the problem; it only aims to show the various ways to conduct research or which is the best practice to solve a specific case. The process of research is to gather information and collect data so that company can make decisions for the future or existing systems to improve and evaluate. This can be done by taking interviews, conducting survey and various other techniques. Research can be done by using both historical and current data. A research methodology has been developed to achieve certain objectives like to analyze the responsibility of the middle manager in order to achieve organizational goal, to evaluate the effect of interpersonal relationship and communication skills and the barriers of communication. A research has been conducted in a very organized way and it is described below: Data Collection To conduct a research, data is required be it primary or secondary. To research about the communication and interpersonal skills of the middle manager, primary data can only be used, as no other company will disclose its HR practices, to ensure that they are different from other company. Secondary data can only be used if all the companies follow one single structure to communicate. So for this paper, research can be done only through primary data. Primary data is the method of collecting data directly from the group of people. This data is highly reliable as an individual personally gives his own opinion which is more accurate (Flick, 2015). Research Approach To ascertain research, it is necessary to decide the approach, whether it is quantitative or qualitative. Quantitative approach is not possible to judge the flow of HR practice in the company. So, to conduct the research, qualitative data has been used. Qualitative research is the way of inquiring employees by the variety of academic disciplines. This research targets a team of audience who share their communication techniques which they follow in the company. The result is more descriptive than predictive. It is done by taking interviews, group discussion and various diary exercises and is done by visiting the company itself (Kothari, 2004). Research Design Research Design is the method of doing investigation and from where the research will take place, which means who is the target audience. It consists of the quantity of the audience and the category of people. In this research, the sample is the middle managers and the population is the employees itself in the company (Kumar, 2010). Population and Sample Size Qatari Diar is a big real estate company and its business is expanded to various areas. To handle such big projects, various employees have to be present. In this research, it is not possible to conduct interview for each employee, so the particular target was made to achieve this research. Middle managers were targeted and to them it was asked about communication and interpersonal skills and various barriers to communication (Kumar, 2010). Therefore, the researcher will consider a sample size of 30 middle managers for the purpose of conducting the research. The specific 30 middle level managers will be interviewed to identify their outlook regarding responsibility and communication skills of the middle manager. Hence, the sample size for the researcher is 30 employees of Qatari Diar (West & Turner, 2010). Evaluation The objective of this research is to analyze the responsibility of the middle manager in Qatar Diar to enable them to achieve organizational goal, to evaluate the relationships between the employees while they work together as a team or as an individual. This research also aims to see that how the communication skills were developed in the company to manage performance. They also aim to find out the barriers to communication. To attain all these objectives, a research was conducted in the company itself so that the analysis can be accurate and defined. Primary data was used for the research as no company will disclose its communication techniques and skills. The primary data was collected by taking interview of the middle managers and the data were very reliable and accurate (Carroll, 2015). Qualitative research was taken into account for the research. The target for the research was the middle managers, because the population of the company was huge, so it was very difficult to ask each and every one of their opinion and analyze their view. The whole process would have been very complicated, so to make it easy, a sample of 30 employees were interviewed and evaluation were done accordingly. Task 3: Barriers to Communication and Its Impact on Managerial Performance Communication may sometime not convey properly from the sender to the receiver due to some barriers. This lacks in sharing of ideas and thoughts between the individuals. There are many reasons for the barriers of communication. They are semantic barriers, which mean that sometimes the message send by the sender is different when decoded by the receiver. Words, figures and signs which are used in the communication can create confusion, as the receiver may interpret it in some other way and then the whole message gets changed. The other one is the faulty translation; it happens that when board of managers gives instructions to the subordinates and the subordinates wrongly translate the message to the employees. The objective of the company gets changed due to wrong instructions by the subordinates. (Cheney, May, & Munshi, 2010). There are many other barriers like emotional barriers, lack of attention, premature evaluation, lack of confidence, difference in perception, language differences, cultural difference, use of complicated words, personal barriers like hearing problem or problem in giving speech (Keyton, 2011). To overcome communicational barriers, the content of the message should be discussed before sending, message should be communicated according to the needs of the receiver, common language, tone, words and sign should be used so that everyone interprets the same meaning of a particular sentence. The content of the message should be designed in such a manner so that it becomes helpful to the receiver and creates interest in them. It should be ensured that proper feedback comes from the receiver, so that sender can decide if the content of the message actually helped the receiver or not (Keyton, 2011). Lack of communication in the organization effects managerial performance. Organization loses customers, focus of the employees and morale due to poor communication. It can also create frustration and hard feelings among different levels of management. This also harms productivity and interpersonal relationships as well. When the chain of communication breaks down, the entire workflow in an organization suffers (Keyton, 2011). Customers become dissatisfied if they get wrong orders and they start getting disconnected from the organization which is a biggest drawback for the company. For example, if a customer is not properly acknowledged about the use of a particular product and service, then he will move to some other company to satisfy his needs. These types of barriers should be avoided in the company as barriers can affect the whole system in the company and create a bad image. Communication should be fluent, clear, précised and simple so that each level can understand the message properly and achieve company’s objectives (Miller, 2011) References Carroll, C. E. (2015).
