The following paper under the title 'Toyota’s Quality Reputation' is a perfect example of a management case study. Toyota is a Japanese automobile manufacturer and based on revenues, it is considered the 12th biggest company globally, with close to 340,000 employees in different parts of the world. It is also one of the largest automobile manufacturers globally and, in 2012 alone, has managed to make its 200 millionth automobile (Flynn, 2012). It is one of the major companies in Japan in terms of revenue and listing.

In 1937, it was first established by Kiichiro Toyoda, branching out from his father’s Toyota Industries to focus on automobile manufacturing mostly. In 1934, the company built its Type A engine and a passenger vehicle known as the Toyota AA (Toyota, 2013). It covers several brands such as the Toyota brand itself, the Hino, Lexus, Ranz, and the Scion. It has majority shares in Daihatsu, a percentage share in Fuji Heavy Industries, Isuzu, and a minimal Tesla share. History of ToyotaThe company, as was mentioned previously, branched out from the Toyoda Automatic Loom Works.

It was managed by Kiichiro Toyoda (Toyota, 2010). The A1 passenger car and the G1were its first automobiles, and in 1937, they gained independent status. Earlier in the company’s history, in 1924, Sakichi Toyoda built the Toyoda Model G Automatic Loom. In its production, they adopted the jidoka principle wherein the machine itself would have to stop when problems manifest (Toyota, 2010). Looms were later included within a limited production system. By 1929 however, a British company purchased the patent for the loom, and as such, the company was able to secure capital for their automobile unit (Toyota, 2011).

Their automobiles were marketed under the brand name Toyoda and by 1939, the Model AA was released to the market. Their cars' initial price was much cheaper than the Ford and other General Motor cars (Toyota, 2012).
