Management Information System The information in use at Beth Istria includes the information used in the emergency department to coordinate care for the many patients in 48 beds in the department. The information concerns names, symbols and numbers used to identify patients, the right medication required and the time of medication for each patient. This information is contained in the ED Dashboard. Each of the information on the ED dashboard has a link that connects it to clinical information.

The information supported by the clinical computing of Best Istria is supported by an information system which has which has information on clinical care. The system recorded information about 818 clinical staff and a lot of inpatients and outpatients who needed care in the hospital. HR, Payroll, accounts payable, and the general ledger also carry financial information of the company. Stakeholders receive information in order to run various clinical activities such as coordinating clinical care for patients.

Stakeholders within the emergency department use the information to communicate and allocate medicine and care to each inpatient and outpatient. This information was obtained through TV screening, email, computer terminals, networking, writing letters and clinical/financial information systems. The appropriate information includes the patients’ profile information, financial information, and clinical care information. Other important information includes problems, results, medications, notes, orders, alerts, allergies, test-results for patients, and to-do-lists.

Labs and visits are also considered as information stored in ED information system. The missing information in the ED system is amount and prices of procured medicine. This information is needed to link the amount of medicines with the number of patients who need medication. Another type of information missing in the information system of Beth Istria is patient feedback information. The system does not provide patients with a mechanism of providing a feedback about the services of the emergency department.

If I worked for the company; I would propose the introduction of feedback information in the system. This feedback would include complaints, comments, recommendations, suggestions and compliments which would be used to provide better services in the ED department (McLeod and Schell, 2004). Information that I would also want to be included in the system is quality information. In this case, the system would be used to provide information from the analysis of quality in the emergency department and the medical center in general.

Special team would be selected to monitor quality levels in the internal operations of the medical center, and then feed the information about quality into the information system of the organisation. This information can be used to improve quality of medical care provided in the hotel. If I were a patient at Beth Istria, these ICT systems would make various decisions about me including my health levels and the right type of medication that I need. The information system provides the Emergency Department with the necessary information needed to make decisions regarding my medication.

They would choose the right medicine and food that are favourable to my health based on the information about my progress as provided by the information system. The decisions would be good because they would be based on the right information obtained from the information database (McLeod and Schell, 2004). The information system generates reliable information that will enhance effectiveness of decisions made by the emergency department. I would be happy that this information is kept in a system because it would be safe for future decision making concerning my health, so that errors will not be made due to lack of information.

This information should be kept for a long time in future – for even my entire lifetime so that if I fall ill again after recovery I will just go back and my information is retrieved easily for effective medication.
