The paper 'Managing Organization in a Global Context - Haier Corporation" is a great example of a management case study. Globalisation is increasingly creating a new corporate environment around the world that is based on a closely-knit multicultural global village (Florida and Kenney, 2001). The twenty-first century has brought with it increased global relationships whereby people from different parts of the world interact, communicate, and work with each other physically and through modern communication technologies (Hitt et al. 2006). Most entrepreneurs have learned each others’ culture and now conduct business in ways that could not have been possible decades ago.

This environment has resulted in the increased development of knowledge in the global economy. The degree of incorporation of different types of knowledge into economic activities globally is now so big that it is now influencing significant structural and qualitative changes in enterprise operations and generally transforming the nature of competitive advantage (Greenwald, 2005). The rise of the global knowledge economy and the increasing ability of entrepreneurs to distribute this knowledge has earned its value to all business organizations participating in the global economic system.

The implications of this are significant to business organizations in general and particularly those that aim to succeed in expanding their operations globally (Bonaglia and Goldstein, 2007). This report examines the extent to which the internal environment of “The Haier Corporation” organization has enabled it to survive and prosper in the global knowledge economy. The report starts by explaining the global knowledge economy and its implications for organizations; secondly, it examines the factors influencing the success of business organizations in the global economy, thirdly it examines Haier Corporation’s internal environment and finally, it tries to outline the organization’s achievements in the global knowledge economy before concluding with a summary of the findings.

In an examination of Haier Corporation, the report focuses on the internal environment, particularly on structure, culture, and leadership. The report examines these factors and how they have enabled the corporation to cope with its external environment.
