Methods of hazard identification and Risk Aversion The situation at hand The period is 1890, and the automobile is an unimaginable phenomenon. The traffic is basically a series of alternating human and animal traffic, which often is managed by the naturally clumsy pacing. There is little if any, but almost total dies-interruption of the entire traffic. The roads are passable and standard by the time judged by the consistently eased traffic standards and alternations. Mostly what the picture depicts as sophistication in the transportation sector could be just the chariot of horses that are yoked for noble causes, if not commercial intention. Somewhere down the lane, the road terrain slopes towards the side of the closest mountain, and indeed this leads to a narrow pathways, though perfectly trodden, but loosely hanging on the side of the mountain. Just beneath the mountain, a slope curves downwards to join with the one at the base of the opposite hill to form a valley. This is also inhabited by twenty villages in estimates. The area is set up in a polar region, where it often snows in winter. Description of the Automobile And the level of risk The car in question for this context is the Mitsubishi Eva. The automobile is designed by various sophistication mechanisms, for instance, the automated controller button. This is a mechanism that detects any dysfunction in the engine system. It makes it more efficient by being able to detect a range of specific defect in the engine gauged by the variations in sounding of the engine and its components. A shock is detected in the engine and through the computerized system, it is able to respond in order to deter or simulate the emerging problems. The model has a steering force in the vehicle performance. This is generated by the acceleration lever mechanism which makes the vehicle capable of turning at three hundred and sixty degrees (360). In addition to this, the model has a terrain detection and simulation button. This enables the drive to be altered depending on the emerging terrain and weather conditions. For instance, the automobile indicates weather the drive is on a gravel road, or snowy terrain, and this forces the engine to shift its working mechanisms to fit the situation. Within the vehicle are four seats with adjustable hinges and above each seat is fitted an automated air cushion system for emergency concerns. The vehicle spins at an overwhelming speed, made possible by its power engine. This can allow it to skid on a small area at 360 degrees angles for several numbers of turns, without skidding off the track. It has got a turbo and a four wheel drive system. Mitsubishi Eva has the ability to flirt out at exceedingly fast speeds, even when negotiating corners, without necessarily closing in to pedestrians with grave consequences of mowing them down. In motion the Mitsubishi engine produces a soft sounding impact that would allow for communication between any two pedestrians that may encounter along any other street. This is also accompanied by a lighter yet efficient engine that is capable of producing large amount of power, hence a higher efficiency. It has a screen that tracks its movement and shows the fuel consumption within estimated distances. In the above description, we can therefore understand the magnitude of each risk that shall be involved in the process. This includes lowest, medium and highest risk levels involved. Low Risks Involved Here there are factors encompassed like constant shock subjected to the car model which is capable of handling it, though may suffer permanent distortion in the case of prolonged exposure. Mid-Level Risks These are risk factors that involve the subjection to consequences, though not fatal enough. Their impact is felt and can be quantified on a scale, and they can last for a considerable duration. Such include restorable medical conditions like secondary infections which may accrue from environmental hazards, just to mention but a few. High Level Risks These are risk factors whose effects are felt as immediate as possible. They are accompanied by grave consequences and most often lead to permanent transformation. This is the most common situation presented by the new automobile in a backdated world. It is evidently probable that most lives will be lost in the event, but if not, and then permanent transformations may be the order of the day. Possible Risks Posed Impact Forces like Kinetic Energy and Mechanical Energy Kinetic energy is the energy due to motion. This form of risk will be one of the major kind especially due to the fact the automobile model in question is such a type that moves very fast. This will pose a great danger to human beings as well as animals. The fast moving Mitsubishi will be incapable of pacing down to the clumsy traffic since the road system provides a reduced performance efficiency. Consequentially, this risk factor will lead to head on collisions which will be countless based on a short term plan. By this trend, there will be grave consequences like increased deaths occurring now and again, since the health system in this timing is incapable of handling accidents of such magnitude that heed prompt emergency response. The animal carriages will always be in the one exposed to the greatest risk collisions with the automobile since they are quite faster than humans are less witty. They will also bump into the vehicle unnecessarily and this would lead to constant destruction of the carriages which would also end up in mild to serious injuries to both humans and the animals. Psychological Consequences Considering the uncivilized form that life is taking in the 80's the introduction of Mitsubishi in the era will be accompanied with psychological consequences, especially at the initial stages when the member of the society in question will be overwhelmed by this new idea. Some will be amazed while others may get shocked by the turning of events due to the sudden introduction of such a unique “thing”. I guess the cultural beliefs may also be a contributor to this mesmerizing thought. Like in such a culture where there is belief in spiritualism, others may imagine that this is the curse of the season especially that it would stream in with fatal consequences like innumerable accidents now and again. Environmental Hazards The Mitsubishi model will be accompanied by several environmental risks and concerns. For instance, since it is fueled mainly by petroleum products, it will give rise to emission of fumes that will pollute the environment. This will have a major impact due to the fact that the emissions could be yielded for the first time ever consistently in that form. Again, this risk will pose a great danger since it will be accompanied by serious health concerns that may be beyond the scope of medicine of the time. These may range from serious respiratory infections to fatal deformities like mental illnesses which can result from tetra ethyl lead; a component of most petroleum products. In as much as it will produce a soft sound in the engine, this sound may be loud enough for the environment in that time line. The noise may also be a source of anxiety especially amongst children and the aged. This when repeated may lead to stress levels increasing which instead has health implications. Navigation Safety consequences This is one of the risk factors that will be posed to the driver and passengers within the automobile. It is brought about by the fact that there are inadequate infrastructural facilities in this time line. The road net works are drastic in standards and still fit the carriages that are drawn by the horses, mules, donkeys and oxen. The texture of the roads is also wanting due to the repeated ridges that slow down transportation by the Mitsubishi; which had been designed to ply different terrains but with a gradual contrary to the sharp contrast depicted in this scenario. For example, considering the nature of the roads in existence; narrow and steep, there is the possibility of the automobile skidding off the track. Its design was to counter a skidding effect on a slightly banked track, just like when negotiating a corner on a broad road. But in this case it wouldn't be able to maintain the track. It may end up rolling down the valley and hence poising a great danger to the village that is set up down the valleys sliding the two overlooking mountains. Regulation concerns In essence, the technology would cause uproar amongst the governing bodies in the place in question. This is due to the fact that the event would signal them a disorderly system waiting to happen. Imagine of the Mitsubishi running past a chariot advancing the king and his men. This would be kind of a rival camp attempting to downplay the kingdom in ruler-ship. Possible present and future risk controls With this automobile design in place, the most immediate control would be the use of a computerized sensor on the automobile that directs the car away from objects ahead. This will be made possible after redesigning the engine to comply with the sensory element. In this sense, sophisticated braking mechanisms may come handy. Other than this, the rear and front parts of the automobile may be lined by a soft material component so that in case of any collisions there would be little impact. Moreover, since the messengers play a handy role in informing the society in question, they can be used to inform the people on such days and time that the drive test would commence so that they ease the jam if not clear the way. This would be possible as the automobile will move fast to allow for the normal daily traffic operations. As a long term risk control, the driver and car owner may advocate for alternative routes tracking through the vastly uninhabited areas. This will allow for little interruptions and if possible, sure track ways for the drive. This means that the society will also be informed of the same and their appraisal on the automobile and its accompaniments shall be guaranteed. To minimize the environmental risks, the automobile may employ the use of alternative sources of energy like ethanol since their presence in this time line is immeasurable and the demand also not so high, so it would be cost benefiting when looked at in terms of conserving the environment.
