Data management processes comprises each and every discipline linked with the managing data and information as a significant and valuable resource. Each and every research work will need some level of effective data management process. Data management process can be considered as one of the important integral parts in the data management process. In addition to this, several organizations are trying to offer high quality business operation process. It is true that positive outcome of a research effectively depends upon the sourcing, collection, analyzing and evaluating of the data. Adequate data management process can help an organization to gain positive outcome from a particular research project that can help the organization to improve its business performances. It is important for an organization to appoint an expert researcher who can implement the procedures of controlling and organizing the research data. First Group can be considered as one of the leading bus companies within the UK transport industry. This research will help the organization to improve its data management and decision making process that can help the marketing management aspect of the organization. Discussion Data management can be considered as one of the important integral part of a research work. It is true that several organizations used to find it difficult from a newly developed project due to inadequate data management process (Pickton and Broderick, 2005, p.77). It is highly important for an organization to source, collect organize, analyze and evaluate the data that have been gathered for the purpose of research work. This part of the study will help to propose several effective data management options for First Group. In addition to this, this assignment will discuss about several contemporary issues and other ethical or legal issues involved in the data management process. Data Management Options First Group is one of the leading transport organizations in UK. Slowly and gradually, the organization has become leading player within the UK transport industry due to adoption and implementation of unique strategies in the business operation processes. However, it is true that the business environment in UK is changing rapidly due to growing market demand, demand for high quality differentiated products and services among the target customers, and unfavourable economic environment of UK (Saunders, Lewis and Thornhill, 2003, p.14). Therefore, it is important for the organization to adopt effective data management strategy in order to develop effective decisions and strategies in near future (Wright, 2006, p.34). The marketing management team of first group identified that the demand for these transport services is significantly growing among the target customers. In addition to this, the marketing management group of the organization is predicting that this demand will grow at a constant growth rate in next few years. Therefore, the organization has decided to invest more capital and launch more vehicles in next years to meet the market demand and needs of target customers (Yin, 2004, p.43). The organization always tries to ensure high quality of the vehicles in order to meet the comfort level of the passengers. In addition to this, the management of the organization is significantly trying to ensure healthy and safe journey of the passengers through the implementation of effective business operation strategies (Ghauri and Grönhaug, 2005, p.23). The organization already has conducted a market research survey work in order to determine the consumer behaviour and needs of target customers. The organization has maintained strong relationship with the external and internal stakeholders in order to ensure effective customers service management process and reduce the journey time of the passengers. However, the organization is trying to upgrade their data management process in order to increase the efficiency in the business operation processes. In addition to this, the management of the organization has decided that significant up-gradation of the data management process can help the marketing management department of the First Group to bring efficiency in the decision making and strategy development in order to ensure effective marketing management activities and performances (Moore, 2003, p.29). First of all, it is highly important for the organization to appoint a skilled and experienced researcher who has the ability to incorporate appropriate things and aspects in the data collection process. Data management process can be categorized into different parts, such as sourcing, collecting, storing, analyzing and evaluating the data and information (Kotler and Keller, 2006, p.17). In terms of data collection process, the organization has the choice to implement either primary data collection process or secondary data collection process. In addition to this, it is highly important for the organization to adopt and implement several unique strategies in the data analysis process. It is highly important for the organization to compute and source the data. However it is true that adoption of data warehousing can help an enterprise to develop an effective database. It can be attained through effective computing functions (Kolb, 2008, p.121). It actually can help the First group to evaluate report and analyze the data. The marketing management of First can consider two options in the data management process. First f all, the organization can adopt manual process to manage the data. Or else the organization can consider automotive computing process to management the data (Kotler, 2001, p.19). However, it is true that demand for advanced computing data management process and improved data warehousing functions are becoming important for the organizations as the organization can complete a research project in low cost, minimal effort and in limited time period. The organization can bring accuracy and efficiency in data management process through this data management procedure (Handy, 2006, p.39). Contemporary issues in Data management Process Global business environment is becoming highly competitive as several leading organizations are trying to implement unique and differentiated strategies in the business operation processes in order to gain potential competitive advantages. It is important for the organizations to conduct effective market research to ensure effective business performances in this competitive business environment. First Group can be considered as one of the leading organizations within the UK transport industry (Henry, 2008, p.45). The organization has integrated primary data collection process in the business operation. It is true that primary data collection process is more significant comparing to the secondary data collection processes. However, it is true that several organizations face different types of difficulties in the data collection process. It is true that different organizations face different types of issues in the primary data collection process. Primary data collection process can be considered as one of the important integral part of data management system (Lyons and Coyle, 2007, p.17). Therefore, it is the responsibility of the researchers to avoid several types of issues in the data management process in order to gain positive research outcome. It is the most time and cost consuming part in entire research work. However, several types of contemporary issues can be developed in the data management process that can affect entire research work (Burgemeister, 2003, p.9). It is true that the researchers used to avoid several important elements during the data management process. In addition to this, the researchers used to consider random responses from the chosen sample (Maylor and Blackmon, 2005, p.75). The researchers face difficulty in the random sampling process as some times the responses might not be true. In adequate sourcing and computing of primary data can offer inappropriate research outcome that can affect the business performance of the organization (Frank, 2004, p.87). In addition to this, respondent of different social and cultural background offers different types of responses. Moreover, several researchers used to avoid some important steps in the data collection and data analysis process due to high data management cost and time (Jobber, 2012, p.11). In several times the researchers used to face difficulty in the data collection and data analysis aspects as the researchers used to avoid the macro economical factors in the analysis and evaluation process (Pride and Ferrell, 2011, p.41). These contemporary issues used to stop the organization or a researcher to gain a positive, expected and accurate research outcome. Ethical and Legal Issues It is important for the researchers to secure the privacy and fundamental rights of the researchers. It is true that several used to misuse the collected data and information which is not correct and ethical (Glaser and Strauss, 2009, p.24). In several times researchers used to force the respondents to collect the required information and data to analyze and manipulate. People do not want to share personal matters and behaviours with the other individual. It is right to do so. Therefore, several organizations are trying to maintain sustainability in each and every business operation process in order to control the issues that are linked with the business operation processes (Corbin and Strauss, 2008, p.56). Now-a-days, several organizations are trying to adopt and implement aggressive strategies in the business operation processes in order to gain potential competitive advantages. Data management process can be considered as one of the important integral element in the business operation process of each and every organization (Churchill, 2009, p.41). Being one of the leading organizations, First Group has effectively focused on the data management process to develop future strategy (Cooper, 2003, p.51). However, the organization always tries to maintain effective relationship with several important external and internal stakeholders in order to maintain sustainability in the business operation process (Cowan, 2005, p.93). Unethical and illegal activities and practices in the data collection and data management process can hamper the developed strong relationship between the organization and stakeholders (Brown, 2009, p.33). Several or5ganizations used to utilize personal information and thoughts of researchers in the data evaluation and data findings process without taking any kind of permission of those respondents (Bryman and Bell, 2003, p.103). The respondents have the legal authority to file complaint against the researcher, particular management group or entire organization. In addition to this, these ethical and legal issues can also affect the strategy development and decision making process (Burrow, 2011, p.82). Conclusion and Recommendation It is clear from above discussion that and analysis that each and every researcher needs to incorporate effective data management process in order to gain positive research outcome. Effective data management process includes sourcing, collecting, analyzing, evaluating and controlling the data. First Group can be considered as one of the leading organizations within the UK transport industry. The organization strongly depends upon the effective data management process in order to develop effective strategies for near future. The marketing management of the organization realized that the data management process of the organization needs to be improved and upgraded in order to increase the efficiency in the decision making and strategy development process. Following recommendation plans can help First Group to upgrade its data management process. First of call, it is important for the marketing management of First group to incorporate highly automotive tools and processes in research activities. It has several advantages. The organization can reduce the data management process lead time. It will help the organization to hget6 accurate and positive research outcome in quick time period. In addition to this, it can help the organization to reduce the overall business operation cost. Secondly, the organization should try to appoint experienced and skilled researcher who can deal effectively with the chosen respondents. The organization has to ensure legal and ethical aspect in the data collection processes. In addition to this, the organization should try to exposé each and every aspect associated with the data management process in the company website or in annual report of the organization. Effective data warehousing and significant data computing should to be ensured by the organization in order to maintain effective relationship with the existing internal and external stakeholder. Last but not the least; it is highly important for the organization overcome several possible contemporary issues in the data management process in order to gain positive research outcome. These aspects will help the organization to enhance effective strategy development and decision making process. References Brown, L., 2009. Marketing and Distribution Research.
