John Folse’s Vision and Leadership Style Introduction: John Folse was born in Louisiana and is highly popular for his leadership style and vision that has led him to successfully run his company Chef John Folse & Company. Having a passion for food and culture, he has been successful in creating a leadership style that is beneficial for entrepreneurs enabling creation of awareness for the culture as well as achieving competitive advantage for the business (Harringon and Herzog n.d.). Folse’s Vision and Leadership Style: The vision of Chef John Folse is simple and innovative in nature where his focus has been on the gastronomic identity business model (Harringon and Herzog n.d.).

He is confident and decisive with his vision and hence is believable, varying, stimulating, and unforgettable (Goricastanisic 2012). Folse took the taste of Louisiana to other parts of the world (John Folse takes Louisiana cooking to Olympics 2012). He has his own restaurants now in several locations across the world that include countries like Japan, as well as other locations like Beijing, Hong Kong, Paris, Moscow, London, Bogota, Taipei and Seoul (Executive Chef John Folse to Share Culinary Expertise and Leadership Experience to Denver Students and Community 2013).

John Folse incorporated the gastronomic identity business model depending on which his company demonstrated “the contribution an entrepreneur and restaurateur can make toward ensuring the continuation and recognition of a locale’s gastronomic identity” (Harrington 2007). The experiences of the customers are considered effectively by Folse and his company (Harrington 2007). The the leadership style followed by Folse have enabled the involvement of different members across the organization and hence motivate each other towards achieving business goals, considering the opinions and views of the customers as well (Harrington 2007).

Thus considering the full range model of leadership, the effectiveness of Folse has been visible in engaging the emotional (EQ) and spiritual (SQ) intelligences of human beings. He ensured that common goals between the organizational members would provide benefits to both the organization as a whole as well to the individuals who are part of the organization. “He creates a sense of ‘all for one and one for all’ and this is also evident in his business practices, suppliers he uses, people he employs and the way he sells the concept” (Week 4 – Vision and Cognitive Leadership 2011).

The local culture and the environment have been involved in his model that enabled the creation of the identity of the individuals working for his company and thus strengthened the full range model of leadership (Week 4 – Vision and Cognitive Leadership 2011). John Folse can be said to be a transformational leader since he ensured the involvement and participation of all organizational members towards motivating each other in achieving the goals of the business. He is transformational in the way he focused on creativity and innovation and inspired his men towards their roles and responsibilities (Goricastanisic 2012).

Conclusion: It can be concluded from the study that Chef John Folse has provided the business world with his vision and leadership style that strengthens the Full Range Model of leadership and enables success of an organization along with the success of the individual organizational members.
