Work of a Voluntary/community Organization Task: Work of a Voluntary/Community Organization Introduction Disability action is up to ensuring that any individual with any form of disability has all rights just like the rest of the people in the community. Other than this primary duty, the organization supports the inclusion of these people and influences the government policies in their favor by ensuring that they are never sidelined, and their plight is well taken care of. Disability action (2012) supports that, in so doing, the reinforcement of better relation and positive attitude development during any attempts of partnering with the disabled people. Disability action is one unique body, as it covers a vast range of disabilities over a larger Northern Ireland. This organization has been of help as statistics show that; for every five people in Northern Ireland, there is one with a disability. The major disabilities looked into includes mental disability, which is mostly hormone related, physical disability, learning disability and hidden disabilities. According to Arnott (2011), all efforts get towed towards ensuring that people with these disabilities receive impacts of positive social change. Economic empowerment of people with a disability is also looked into. The cultural life as related to appreciation diversity within the entire community becomes part of the duties of the organization. Thus, the assistances aim to finding matching jobs for these individuals. The organization also offers efficient support to these individuals at the work place through mentoring and reinforcing positive attitude. Other than this, job coaching is also carried out by the organization. The employer must be put into consideration and given relevant support when necessary. Financial support may also be negotiated over with the employees of people with disability. Resource implications The organization needs about 500000 Euros per year to ensure that all these activities go on as planned. All the money is acquired from the general public, and the business community who chip in during fund raisers, which, are held periodically. The convincing factor here is the need for the services provided by the organization in the region, North Ireland. Other rounds of funding include the openings through community development to meet the needs of the locals. This has been efficient through the use of health assurances to the locals who call for the help of the organization. Hussey and Perrin (2003) have shown that, there are various businesses, which, involves community partnership hence funding the organization. These include pharmacies which are community based. Donor satisfaction According to Yeo (1976), the donor must feel satisfied by the work of their donations. This prompts efficient management of funds so raised. Trainings offered by the organization includes informing the donor and the whole community on what activities transpire and what it takes for the activities to be successful. Provision of financial reports to the public and stake holders brings about some appreciable degree of trust by the donors and financers. Manpower The organization has the board of directors which is concern with overseeing its success. It works with and for people with a disability with no aims of making profits. The employees of the organization involve paid and voluntary employees who are not paid. This depends on their position in the organization and core functions. It is inclusive of other voluntary organizations hence sufficient manpower is in place. Through the trainings, the current employees gain more experience and knowledge as more volunteers come in. This view has been supported by Schewabenland (2006). Conclusion From the above discussion, action disability is an organization which aims at helping people with a disability within the community. It aims at making no profits but ensures that funds are available for the smooth running of its activities. The organization raises funds mainly through fundraising and accepting donations from supportive parties. The donors gain satisfaction through the efficient running of the organization in an attempt to help people with disability. The management ensures its smooth operation with the support of willing and experienced staff. It has been helpful to the community more so to people with a disability within the community.
