The business aspects of organisations have moral features to account for. Such moral features are conceptualized as practice in the reading. Coming up with the right choice of morals in an organisation is a process. The article perceives that there are ethics portrayed by organisations that are not actually true to type (Stewart, Kornberger, and Rhodes, 2007, p.108). The reading critically evaluates and assesses moral obligations of organisations in the light of managerial actions.

The treatment of managers as agents of morals is examined and ethics’ manifestation presented, over and above moral and legal contexts. Identifying key insights Contemporary capitalism has come with enormous benefits and costs for many business enterprises around the world. Experts in organizational operations and performances have as a result expressed the need to address moral concerns in organizations. The reading provides an intensive and extensive consideration of ethics in business practices.

Specific contexts of ethics as practice in business activities have been considered, enhancing the diversity and dynamism encompassed by business ethics. Organisations are directed by rules, laws and regulations. The primary consideration of the reading is the aspect of ethics in business and in organizations. The reading is therefore aimed at enhancing the understanding of ethical settings of organizations, taking into account social, economic and political changes over time. Ethics are therefore integral to the rule of organisations.

Contextual factors have significant influences on business ethics, and the need to understand them as a practice should take this factor into account. Time integration into ethics brings forth a practice of ethics that is beyond the predetermined ethics. In other words, the present-past relationship in business ethics cannot be refuted. However, it is not always given that the past is the sole determinant of an ethical future context. Perspective-based rationality may call for practice of ethics that are beyond that what is predetermined.

In this regard, ethical discourse and ethical subjectivity should be interactive in order to operationalize business ethics as a practice (Stewart, Kornberger, and Rhodes, 2007, p.115). Practical application of the reading in terms of organisational analysis The reading’s application in the context of organisational analysis cuts across a number of organisational undertakings prior to the business aspect of interest. Ethics are a broad and diverse scope. They impact on both internal and external business environments, thereby influencing organisational operations and performances.

There are a number of areas that this reading is practically applicable. These are: product and service pricing, business contracts, business advertisement, business-supplier relationship and organizational selling. The above identified areas of business operations are in one way or another linked to ethical practices in organisations. It is expected that an organization should consider both internal and external environments in its ethical practices. Ethical and unethical concerns in the external environment are bound to impact on the internal environment of the firm, if that firm is directly or indirectly linked to the external environment.

The link herein can emerge from a number of sources or sides in both internal and external environment relationships. These are: supply side, product distributing side, business contracting sides or from agents of sales within and without the organisation. The identified business areas and aspects are crucial in analysing organisations since they highly influence organisational performance.
