Overseas Protection and Operations Safety is the protection from accidents caused by nature or human. Security means the protection of individuals from potential violence. Management of security of a team requires the assessment and analysis of risks to ensure proper control of the security by identifying the possible threats and avert them. The Clean World Enterprise members will be required to have a positive attitude towards their security and be committed and strive to be accountable for effective implementation of decisions. Security management for the team will be facilitated better when there is effective communication. To have an effective security detail the team will be required to put in consideration the following: the objectives of the security measures to be taken, the results of the assessment concerning the potential for violence, resources needed to meet the objectives, who to ask for help, what safety measures- linked activities to be offered. The security measures depend on the physical structure and location and the accessibility of the area and the risks faced by the teams. The team will need trained personnel whose responsibility will be to ensure there are proper intervention strategies in place, show the other members of the team how to deal with defensive orders, help in dealing with shocking events, providing medical, legal and psychological assistance to the victims should they experience any event that is of threat to them and be able to conduct a proper threat organization response examination. Despite all this the person with the responsibility of providing security need to have a clear understanding of the major setbacks (Fay 2010, p. 67). Human behavior is very unpredictable as there is no definite profile for a potentially dangerous person. Risk prevention will be achieved through early identification of the problems and solving them. The security team should be familiar with the local procedures when dealing with potential threats and emergencies. The security team should be conscious of any form of threats and take all threats seriously. They should also ensure that there is enough provision funding for suitable security and safety of the team. The security team will provide adequate resources for working out and create awareness by offering training to the clean world team on how to best handle any violent situation should there arise one. The security management team’s functions include the assessment of the potential risks and dangers and inform the others on whether to enter a certain location or not, risk reduction for easier access of a potentially dangerous location and safely stay there and should the risk become unbearable, there is an a fast and safe withdrawal ( Tucker 2006, p. 101). The members of the Clean World Enterprise Company through James Gray will have to hire the services of professional security personnel who are familiar with the Monterrey. The security personnel should ensure they provide a conclusive report to James Gray on the necessary security measures, financial implication for ensuring the safety of the Clean World Team. Communication among the team should be effective, as poor communication will lead to the insecurity of the Clean World Enterprise members (Alan 2009, p. 78). The security management team needs to understand that security having suitable security organization policy does not guarantee safety as management of security concerns the risk reduction. Security management procedures are effective if there is proper response to the risks in the potentially violent location. The team should understand that incidents might occur, as procedures are only measures. Being in a risky environment means that security management has to be given the first priority and if it is impossible the team will be required to get extra staff capacity. The purpose of the security management team is to reduce exposure from violent situations, which is one of the key components in the protection strategy. The security team should put into consideration the potential vulnerabilities of the location, which may include political instability, economic instability, crime, natural disasters, and wars. Risk reduction therefore effected through the situational monitoring, examination and protection. Should there arise a crisis the team should come up with ways of managing the crisis, which may include negotiation or escape. Financial matters of the team will be the obligation of James Gray. Financial management is one of the key factors for effective running of the Clean World Enterprise’s stay in Monterrey. Proper management of the finances will ensure that the security measures, accommodation, transportation and medication. James Gray will have the greatest responsibility in the team. Management of the team’s finance requires the keeping of records of all the money the company will spend. This entails keeping and arranging the receipts and records of expenses. This information should be stored in the bookkeeping software. This bookkeeping software may include QuickBooks. James Gray will have to oversee the preparation of financial reports of the company and all its activities undertaken during their stay in Monterrey (Karasik 2002, p. 45). Being in charge of the management of finance requires the individual to have the values of being reliable and accountable and conformity with appropriate laws and regulations. Since being in charge of the finance will overburden James Gray, he will be required to segregate some of the duties to the other members to prevent errors, irregularities in the allocation and accounting of the funds (Fay 2010, p .132). He will also be required to have a proper upholding of the documents. Maintenance of documents gives a good basis for accountability and recording of information. When allocating the funds he should consider both short-term and long-term implication to the Company. He should ensure that the transactions of the Company are parallel with the rules and regulations of finance. Preparation of the company’s statements of finance will also be his responsibilities as well as the accounting of normal and extra- budgetary funds. James Gray will be required to ensure that there is adequate allocation of funds to every activity that their team will be undertaking. Security is one of their major concerns as they are in a foreign and potentially violent territory. Thus for effectiveness and safety of their stay, he will have to ensure that funding of the security measures are well taken care of. The security personnel that will provide security to them will need to be financially catered for, as they will be protecting them as well as their laboratory equipments. Alison Hughes security during her daily 5km run will have to be funded, as the environment is volatile. The transportation of the laboratory equipments and chemicals on road weekly will definitely require funding. Security for the four members of the Company should be adequately provided for thus funds would be allocated. Their working location will be in an isolated place, which will need to be secure. The safety of the isolated place in a potentially volatile environment will demand the allocation of funds .Graham Moore who requires regular health checkups and medication. His health will require being well taken care of therefore funds will have to be allocated to his catering. To avert a possible crisis, James Gray will have to allocate funds to his family who might or might not travel with him. Funds allocated should cater for their security as well though the company has not allocated these funds (Alan 2009, p.126). The accommodation of the company members will also need financing and therefore funds will have to be allocated to them for their three-month stay at Monterrey. This allocation of funds will be in consideration of their security personnel, as they will also need accommodation, as they will stay near the members of the company to provide adequate security. James Gray will reside in a private residence and which the Government has given thus will not require any financing of his stay. However, for the other members, they will be sharing a house thus their housing will require funding. James Gray will have to allocate funds for the additional short stay of visitors from the company who will be staying at the Crown Hotel Plaza. They will have to be given security thus their security will have to be funded. James Gray will have to put this into consideration. Security measures for their three- month stay in Monterrey will be funded adequately and nothing should be taken to chance (Tucker 2006, p.67). The security measures for their travelling will be the most hectic one. Travelling entails the movement from one place to another and they are travelling in a violent environment. Their travelling will require security, as they will be moving with almost weekly. Transportation of the laboratory equipments and the chemicals will require adequate security detail to avoid any risks along the way and within a short notice of 24 hours. The storage of the laboratory equipments and the chemicals will need a 24-hour security to avoid any cases of vandalism (Karasik 2002, p. 98). The team will be working in isolation and therefore will require a tight security for effective and efficient working. Their decisions will be faced with various setbacks, which include environmental, political, social issues that have been influenced by the increase in violence. Working in isolation will needed proper planning in finance and security. The advantages of working in isolation will be to reduce the incidence of place of work damage and illness. Working in isolation enables the managers to be able to identify, put into practice, and evaluation of working in isolation control measures. Working in isolation is done because of risk assessment on the task involved to be able to determine the suitable course of exploit (Purpura 2007, p. 88). The security measures behind working in isolation are to ensure a proper means of communication should there be an emergency. Emergency response and assessment of risks is easier when working in isolation. Working in isolation ensures that the members of the company will work in a safe environment. Working in isolation is the most suitable for dangerous goods like chemicals laboratories, which have explosive substances or when dealing with hazardous substances. The Clean World Enterprise team will require to segregate the duties as James Gray will not be able perform all these duties to the other members of the company. James Gray will segregate the duties according to how he views the members of the company. Alison Hughes being a fitness fanatic will be assigned the duties of handling travelling and security issues. Due to his health issues, Graham Moore will be assigned the duties of handling the laboratory and the chemicals. Andy little will be assigned the task of handling the finances and accommodation of the team and their security. All their duties will be reported back to their James Gray their MD will account for all the activities preformed and come up with a report of their three-month stay (Fay 2010, p.67). Since the Government recognizes the Clean World Enterprise, the company members will try to get the services of the Government in matters dealing with security. Since the Government is familiar with the territory of Monterrey, the company will employ the services of the Government. If the company has an agreement with the Government, the will hire their security personnel and their location for setting up their laboratory which should be in an isolated place. This will be as a return gesture of giving James Gray a free accommodation by employing the people of the Government to help them in establishing or setting up a testing laboratory in Monterrey ( Karasik 2002, p. 116) . It has been noted that there are social, political, and environmental issues that will affect their decisions therefore the team needs to devise means of handling these issues. Identifying and solving these problems will require the individual to have intellectual curiosity, sensitivity, and commitment. Social issues will be tackled by not being involved in the issues of Monterrey. Environmental issues will be taken care of by hiring an effective security detail that will try to prevent the team from any possible threat or risk of being involved in any form of violence being experienced in Monterrey (Purpura 2007, p. 107). The security personnel should offer specialist support, which has a wide experience in varied and aggressive conditions and is used to the customs of risk alleviation and planning carefully. Through careful planning, they are able to offer site security services and ethical expert operating services through their network of partners. To solve political issues will be possible if they try to involve the services of a private institution in their stay in Monterrey. The company will most definitely be involved in politics and therefore they should try to avoid taking sides so as not to be involved in any form of violence from the gang warfare. Clean Water Company’s stay at Monterrey will be successful if they employ the services of good financial management of their resources. James Gray being in charge of the finances of the company will be required to have travelled earlier and done an evaluation of the state of Monterrey to be psychologically and financially prepared prior to their initial travelling. The four members of the team will do these so that they can delegate who will perform which duties for purposes of prior arrangement (Fay 2010, p. 89). Concerning accommodation, it will be of importance if they consider staying at close proximity to each other for security reasons to be able to avert any possible threats or violence, should there occur any. Security protection can be easily administered when they are near each other and therefore if it is possible, they can try to find ways where they can have their accommodation very close to each other. Another factor for effective security will be to have an effective communication with all the concerned parties, as one of the setbacks of security is breakdown of communication (Alan 2009, p.123). Communication is an important tool for effective security measures therefore the company will have to adopt the most efficient communication tools they can get. The specialist support teams through their experience will most likely point out the most effective tools of communication during their three-month stay at Monterrey. James Gray will have the key role in this whole scenario and will therefore be required to ensure that the team achieves the success needed during their stay at Monterrey. To achieve this he will have to come up or create mission, objective, and ground rules. He required to recognize the stakeholders and their anticipation. To the other members of the company, he will be required to give complimentary responsibilities and roles to avoid a conflict of interest. Finally, he will have to build a strong relationship based on trust and try to compensate experience. However, despite James Gray’s major role, he will have to involve the other members in decision-making. One of the actions will be to have good interpersonal and communication skills and should inform the company members for reliability (Tucker 2006, p.47). Consideration of policies, relevant legislation, and code of ethics is of great importance for their success in Monterrey. James Gray will have to hold a discussion with the parties involved to clarify their objectives. He should also asses his team in terms of social dynamics and task and environmental factors and as the team leader he should strive keep a record of contact with the security team and members of his company.
