It has been a dominant service provider of General Aviation for the United States. The organization has decadal experience of providing outstanding services in aeronautics. It has been leading the way in General Aviation by following the rules of Integrity, Respect and Trust. The company’s FBO location provides facilities of arrival and departure for general, private and professional as well as business aeronautic travellers. Unlike other companies, Cutter Aviation provides an integrated package of products and services that include a broad range of clients. The FBOs has been strategically positioned around the metropolitan areas. The General Aviation, in those cities provides an essential transportation link for individuals and businesses that need aviation services (Cutter Aviation, 2015). 1. Part 1 1.1 Team Building and drive innovation Cutter Aviation believes in following the procedures of team building to encourage innovation. It has been providing a training program to all its employees to stimulate innovation. Their aim behind providing these programs is to enhance the skills of its employers, their decision making ability and communication skills (Cutter Aviation, 2015). The training programs have helped the employers to acquire knowledge in achieving their activities. This makes the company to develop new innovative products. The organization faces the problem of bureaucracies in developing new strategies. These bureaucracies can be reduced by following two stages: Firstly, identifying the obstacles prevailing in the company and secondly, the company needs to identify the strategies that are required to implement change. Finally, the organization should implement and follow the steps accordingly. However, before implementing any change, the organization should make employees understand the importance of proposing the change (Cutter Aviation, 2015). The company has made many contracts with 1.2 Communication, training and decision making Cutter Aviation has been able to build an environment that is collaboratively supported by all the experts of the organization. The company supports the employees by providing them sufficient resources and training programs. It has maintained an excellent environment wherein all workers share their ideas. Regular activities of cross training are operated to enhance the skills of the workers. This helps the organization to reduce clash among the workers, as they connect with each other (Change Management Coach, 2015). The workers share their talents and knowledge among themselves and this brings teamwork at the enterprise. Cutter Aviation has allowed all its workers switch from a subsidiary to another. This makes the employees more productive. . 2. Part 2 2.1 Management Change Change management refers to introduction of new mechanisms and actions taken by a company and managing the employees who are associated with the change. It is an outlined process that exists within a particular period of time. Cutter Aviation also needs a change management. As we know, more are the availability of facilities, more the business boosts up. The company needs to improve the sales of fuel that would help in equating the networks. It also needs to add some more FBOs in the locations where more people live and run their business. 2.2 Change Management using Lewin’s Model Kurt Lewin’s Change Management model follows three stages: Stage1 Unfreezing: This stage requires an individual to get ready for the change. It requires the individual to understand the importance of change as quickly as possible and move away from his previous comfort zone. The faster an individual realizes the necessity of making change, the more motivated he is in implanting the change. For our present study, the stage of unfreezing is about balancing the pros and cons of Cutter Aviation and concluding whether the pros dominate the cons before taking any action. Stage2 Transition: According to Lewin (2015), change refers to a process, rather than an event. He termed this process as a transition. It is a journey that an individual make to transform his reaction into a change. This stage is not an easy one, as the employer of the company needs to understand the change and start working with it. Thus, this needs support through coaching and training. Stage3 Freezing/ Refreezing: In this stage, stability is established after the change has been made. These are the changes that are accepted and are referred to as the new rules. The employers may take time to follow these rules. 2.3 Influence of some factors in change management Force coercion The strategy of force coercion uses the concepts of rewards, punishment and legitimacy as the fundamental encouragements to change. It can be performed in two ways: Direct Forcing Strategy: In this strategy, the authority of Cutter Aviation takes one-sided and direct action to “mandate” that change will take place. Political Maneuvering: This includes gaining control over important resources, bargaining and giving small favor to the employers of Cutter Aviation. Rational Persuasion This strategy brings in the change by persuasion through data, knowledge and logical argument. It is referred to as a strategy that is informative, assuming that rational people always support a change guided by self-interest, facts and logical reason. It is important to make the employers of Cutter Aviation understand that by making a change, their benefits will be higher than their costs. This strategy is vital during the stage of unfreezing and refreezing. Shared Power This strategy involves all the employers in a collective process to identify the goals, values and assumptions that are required for the emergence of change. This strategy requires high participation of all the workers in the organization. 2.4 Sources of Resistance Changes and resistance are highly correlated. To make a change successful, the organization must overcome resistance. Some sources of resistance may include: Work overload: The worker may not have the physical energy to carry out the change. Loss of confidence: Sometimes the workers feel that they are incapable of operating under the new changes. Poor timing: The workers many a time find that the new changes are moving very fast. Some other sources of resistance includes: late arrival of employers, rise in the number of absenteeism, anger among the employers, etc. 2.5 Ways to overcome resistance The best way to overcome a resistance is to understand that it cannot be avoided, rather it can be managed. While encountering resistance, values of people should be addressed. This in turn reduces the adverse outcome of resistance. A change management can be successful, if resistance is assumed to change. Some important ways to overcome resistance include: education and communication among the employees of the organization, involvement and participation of all individuals at work, assistance and support by the authorities, etc. Also, the company’s culture is adapted towards developing the skills of its workers and it gives value to unity and team work, which in a way helps them to overcome resistance. 2.6 Innovation process of the company Cutter Aviation has created many technological innovations. This is because; they have developed a wide range of marketing systems and differentiated products. These innovations are executed by the experts and specialists and their effort results into the evolution of new products. For instance, the organization has been the prominent service provider of aircraft. It provides aircraft services to numerous companies. During the Second World War, as the economy was breaking down, the organization provided pilot training programs. Some dealership contracts were established by Cutter Aviation with Socata Aircraft, Piper Aircraft Daher-Socata TBM 850 line (Change Management Coach, 2015). 3. Part 3 3.1 Mission statement and company objectives Cutter Aviation’s objective is to create a family like business by focusing on team work to enhance growth. The organization aims at developing the skills of its workers and provides support to all its stakeholders (Cutter Aviation, 2015). The objectives of the company are ingrained in such a way so as to promote its growth. The company’s structure is outlined to show its powers and missions. The global decisions are taken up by the top most management, after being implemented by the junior managers. The structure of the organization is made in a way that entertains the requirements of all its stakeholders. This framework has made the whole system work more efficiently. 3.2 Code of Ethics The code ethics of Cutter Aviation is based on the core values of the organization. This signifies that all the individuals at work must be honest, respectful and trustworthy. The organization gives value to all its tradition and provides safety in all its operations. Honesty is the major ethics that should be obeyed by each and every individual in the organization. The organization considers all its team members as a family member. It promotes prosperity and builds friendship. Other code of ethics embraced by the organization is stewardship, forgiveness and growth for all employers at the workplace (The Custom Writtings, 2015). The company has collected wide range of resources to implement any strategy. The adoption of opening up numerous subsidiaries has been taken by the company. It has also been developing partnership with other organizations. These new strategies are supported by the labor force. The organization provides training to all its employees to develop their skills. It has executed numerous strategies to match the current condition of the market. They are designed in a way that makes the organization achieve success even when the economy is unstable. It has been seen that Cutter Aviation defeated the challenges of the Great Depression and the Second World War (The Custom Writtings, 2015). 3.4 Control process of the company The top management of Cutter Aviation acts like a platform between two opposing parties. The authority of the organization posses enough control to manage all operations at work to ensure safety to all its stakeholders. The company has a positive work environment which helps in enhancing team work and reduces rivalry at workplace. Cutter Aviation has risk management that ensures safety environment to all its workers. It has adopted some strategies that help in managing the conflicts among the employers at workplace (Change Management Coach, 2015). The process of decision making has been framed in such a way that all stakeholders are able to present their opinions. This in turn helps individuals to share their views and sort out their conflicts. All colleagues in the organization are allowed to take part in the process of decision making, leading to the success of new strategies implemented. 4. Part 4 4.1 Organization’s Environment Internal Environment Cutter Aviation maintains a good unity among its employees at the workplace. Due to this, the organization is able to develop new strategies. The organization has enough resources to work even when the industry is unstable. This makes the company to overcome many challenges faced due to the downturn of the economy. However, the organization has built some authorities which obstruct the communication between the junior staff and the senior management. This in turn has affected the process of decision making. External Environment The Cutter Aviation has helped International Communities to embrace the modern technology. This leads to creation of new opportunities because it results in developing more customers. After globalization, the company has greater opportunities to open up across wide range of markets. It can broaden its market by operating in other countries as well. Since, many organizations are being developed in this industry; Cutter Aviation has a potential threat. The company has been facing reduction in profit, due to an increase in competition in the aircraft industry. Imposition of numerous regulations by the government has made it difficult for the company to gain unusual profits, which it used to gain initially. 4.2 Design of Organization’ Strategy and its Competitive Advantage Cutter Aviation develops a wide range of products and aims to become the finest service provider of aircraft. The organization follows a strategy of providing outstanding skills in the aircraft services to gain full control of the industry. The organization’s design is influenced by this strategy by supporting the creation of new strategies. To achieve these strategies, Cutter Aviation has supported leadership among all individuals at workplace. Hence, all sections of the organization are well controlled. 4.3 Key Success Factor and its Justification Cutter Aviation’s organizational design has made it to achieve a competing edge. The support and help from the team of management encourages the employees to develop new products. The employees of the organization share a common goal and are united which in turn helps them to create and implement new strategies. The strong bond among the employees in the organization helps them to acquire many resources. Since the company supports programs based on communities, they possess a good image in front of them. Cutter Aviation supports the communities in developing significant projects (Cutter Aviation, 2015). 5. Conclusion Cutter Aviation is the leading service provider of aircrafts. The organization sells services of aircraft and fuel. Even during World War II and Great Depression, the company was able to establish a wide variety of products and services. This made Cutter Aviation to sustain even when the economy was unstable. The integrated organizational structure of the company makes it to promote leadership. This results in achieving new strategies. However, Cutter Aviation has been facing challenges of bureaucracies, which it needs to reduce through management of the organization.
