The individual personalities are significant in understanding the leadership approaches suitable for a strong team. I am pleased to present to you the personalities of the individual members of the team that will assists embracing leadership approaches in various organizational cultural differences as our operations expands to new territories.
Myself
The assessment shows that I possess personality traits such as visionary, argumentative, low tolerance for incompetence, and compassionate. I tend to argue things out and does not embrace any kind of mediocrity. Additionally, I exhibit powerful and passionate vision on what Iwant to achieve, and shares it with the other team members. Moreover, I address people with utmost respect.
Patricia Murray
The assessment results for team member reveal that he is observant, unpretentious, and pragmatic. Notably, the member pays close attention to details and is quick to act. Similarly, he is principled and accepts challenges. Patricia Murray is practical to approach, and initiates goals for the betterment of the team. The team is a goal setter and strives to accomplish the task despite any inherent challenges.
Sheila Jones
The assessment personality traits for Sheila Jones are sociable, fun loving, generous, and spontaneous. The member interacts with everybody without any kind of discrimination along any lines, and is approachable. Similarly, Jones exhibits a lot of generosity and is quick to act.
Leadership Approaches
My teammates have distinct leadership approaches that offer the team with diverse skills to endeavor to achieve the goals of the company. I believe that as we utilize different skills to implement the expansion plan, we will foster a top-to-bottom commitment to participatory leadership practices for the benefit of our company. It is worthy to indicate to you that the basis of the leadership approach for the members is contingency and contemporary. The foundation of the contingency theory espouses that different situations will demand a variety of attributes (Schermerhorn, 2011). The unique characteristics each team exhibits will serve the aims fostered by the contingency leadership approach. Contemporary leadership that encompasses transformational and transactional is inherent in the members will be one of the strengths of our team. Similarly, personality assessment of every member informed the evaluation as the team seeks to align itself with the demands of the new department.
I am glad to inform you that I will employ the contemporary and contingency leadership approaches to lead an effective team that will achieve the goals of the company. The assessment personality indicates that every team leader has different traits that are significant to accomplish the set goals. The transformational leadership style will be utilized to bring about continuous learning, change, and innovation as the company ventures into new segments. The assessment personality and organizational culture inform the efforts to practice transformational leadership. Transformational leadership is significant for firms with growth strategies (Lussier, 2008). As the company endeavors to actualize the strategic plan, transformational leadership will contribute to the overall organizational effectiveness during the periods of turbulence in the external environment.
I am pleased to indicate that the application of the transactional and servant leadership approaches will be critical to my team. I believe that rewards can motivate the team members to accomplish the company’s objectives. It is important to engage in structuring and consideration behaviors with the team members in the process of executing duties (Lussier, 2008). The servant leadership approach will support the team members by encouraging participation, fostering creativity, developing confidence, and sharing power. I will focus on helping the team member whenever they need my assistance. It is crucial to put the needs of the organization and team members ahead of the self-interest.
Application of the contingency leadership approach will be instrumental especially in times of urgency. My team members hold leadership skills as evident in the assessment personality. The contingency approach views leadership as a set of behaviors that are learnable and applicable in any situation (Zehndorfer, 2013). During operations in the new department, culture and urgency will demand the exercising of the contingency approach. It would be compelling at times to function in various contingencies in the form of task, subordinate, and group variables upon the demands imposed by different situations. Such situations will call for leadership approach that matches them in order to attain the company’s set goals. The organizational situations will require the application of varied leadership styles suitable to cater the appropriate needs (Zehndorfer, 2013). Please note that at times, I will have to practice both the task and relationship motivated leadership styles to attain the company’s goals and develop interpersonal relations among the team members.
We will share a collective responsibility to ensure we accomplish the tasks of the new department through using the contingency and contemporary leadership approaches.
