The main mission of the organization is to being committed to growing business for hotels and their partners by fueling sales, optimizing revenue and inspiring marketing (HSMAI).

My interest on the organization is influenced by the professional abilities on the organization in the hospitality and the marketing industry. The organization does not only dwell in proving quality services to their clients, but also provide a learning opportunity to their members. Their library and university increase the suitability of a member to acquire knowledge in the hospitality field in regards to marketing and sales. The professional excellence and consumer preference on the organization also makes the organization attractive to students seeking career development in hospitality.

The student membership fee is charged at $70 on an annual basis (HSMAI). The student membership package creates the opportunity to be mentored by market leader and achievers. Students also access an expanded curriculum in hospitality. The student is also provided with skills to have a competitive edge and build their leadership experience. Additionally, the organization provides the opportunity to have industry experience by providing internship options, industry fairs and HSMAI programs (HSMAI).

The student also may be provided with a scholarship opportunity. My input in the organization will be from learning experience in the field of hospitality.
