Charlie engages the entire staff and challenges the “this is the way we always does it” attitude to come up with effective leadership and management, which would enable overcome the organizational challenges. He also evaluates the expectations of future quality for the company’s new product and encourages his team to work hard to get the products there. He also involves himself in the marketing and advertisement activities by wearing the company’s new boots during the fashion shows (Stadtler & Probst 2010, p. 79). The present paper aims at evaluating the effectiveness of leadership and management approach towards organizational challenge presented in the Kinky Boots film.

Kinky Books Companypreviously known as W L Brooks and Co. is a shoe-manufacturing firm. The company has been manufacturing shoes for almost over hundred years.Founded in the year 1889 with a minimum of eighty employees started facing organizational challenges. Due to the low pound value and cheap (economic) foreign imports, the company’s sales collapsed, resultingin enormous loss (Lisanti & Paul 2007, p. 71). The company’s workforce was almost collapsing in the year 1998 and the founder felt a challenging responsibility of sustaining the remaining thirty employees.

However, after receiving inspiration from an outrageous drag queen, he decided to change the company’s shoes fetish footwear. There is a certain point in business life, when old approaches, ideas, and directions can no longer manage or work for the business due to the chances taking place around the environment. It is during this time when business leaders and managers should decide to stubbornly overcome change and keep hold of the prevailing paradigm (Himsel 2004, p. 40). The leadership and management approach applied in Kinky Boots Company poignantly illustrates this point.
