However, this requires tremendous hard work but if their plan works then it yields numerous rewards not only for the entrepreneur but for all the stakeholders.

I, being the small business consultant, Solange De Peres, have already advised my client Bushley, that he needs to hire new managers as internal recruitment is not possible, because the existing staff does not possess the skills required for the vacant positions. I advise Bushley that he should prepare a detailed training program, explaining clearly about the stores’ operations. The training program should describe thoroughly the responsibilities of each individual manager and how they could perform the respective tasks. After preparing this program Bushley can record it with the help of professional recordings software programs such as Pro-tools or logics. Once the training has been recorded he can either upload it on his website, where all managers can have individual access to it or he can make his account on YouTube and upload his training programs there. The recording software programs that I have mentioned above are the most widely used programs all over the world. They are extremely capable of catering to these professional needs very well.

Video Conferencing

I recommend that Bushley should also consider the option of video conferencing in training his managerial force. Video conferencing is carried out with the help of telecommunication technologies that connect people from different locations and allow them to communicate with one another by transmitting their audio and video simultaneously.

There is a wide variety of video conferencing products that Buhsley can choose from. For instance, he can purchase the EX90 video conferencing system of Cisco and can place them at stores where new managers are appointed. With the help of EX90, he can easily communicate with his manager at different locations, he can train them together or he can train them individually, as this system allows both multi conferencing as well as individual conferencing. He can easily share his presentations with them, conduct meetings with his manager, can listen to their operational problem and discuss their solutions with them, etc.

Of course, video conferencing products are expensive but I advise Bushley that this will save a lot of time and as well the traveling cost.

Video Calls

If Bushley cannot afford video conferencing products then I recommend that he should opt for video calls. There are numerous options for video calls, out of which Skype is very popular.

Bushley can train his newly appointed managers on a video call through Skype. Skype is cheap to use because you just make use of their service. Skype is also easily accessible.

However, it does not have many features. For instance, sharing presentations is not possible through Skype. Similarly the voice and video quality are not of the best quality as it is largely dependent upon the internet connection being used.

Others

The above-mentioned options are quiet enough for Bushley to train his new managerial force. However, he can also stay in touch with his new managers via instant messaging or even through emails. I advise that Bushley should also install CCTV cameras at individual stores so that he could easily monitor the performance of his newly appointed managers, by sitting at any remote or central place. He can also ask his managers to submit him a short weekly report via which Bushley could determine how they are coping with their work.
