Lesson Plan and Transfer of Training s Learning Training Schedule for Employees of Mach Speed Couriers The training dates for the employees are two namely December 1st and 2nd this year 2011. The training will be attended by the integrated staff from different departments. The departments include the parcel handlers, cashiers, packaging department and dispatch team. The trainers for the whole exercise will be drawn from human resource department. ICT and General Operations Department The Cost Benefit of the Training and ROI The cost of training is less as compared to cumulative benefits that the company will automatically have. The level of professionalism in handling of the customers is likely to be improved and more marketing strategies and creation of good public reputation. This will ensure greater continuous income as compared to the cost of undertaking the training process (Pulliam, 2006). This training is a good investment for the company and it is an asset meant for future performance improvement. The return on investment for example, given the professionals and companies that Mach Speed Couriers deal with, let for instance the cost of training program to be $ 300,000 for three years. This delivers an additional profit of $ 500,000 for the business period of the three years. The information is used to calculate the value of ROI as shown below; ROI = profit gains less Investment costs (training cost) divided by investment costs. ROI= ($ 500,000-- $ 300, 000) / 300,000 = 66.67 % How Training Design will lead to Transfer of Training The designed training program caters for individual differences because the employees come from different backgrounds and initial exposure of varying experiences (Carnes, 2010). For meaningful transfer of training, there are specific materials very suitable to the trainee. The charts and marker pens for the trainers must be available. The charts are useful in demonstrating the whole concepts on the board or the wall. However, computer use and the projector are more useful in the exercise. This can be used for easier simulation. The trainees are provided with writing materials to note down key concerns in the courier industry. The design must have clear and realistic objective that can be accomplished (Carnes, 2010). The information relayed must be applicable and related to job specifications and how to improve on them. The real reflection on the working environment is captured by the trainer. Transfer of training is possible through sub-division of trainees into small manageable groups. The trainees should also be given some short brakes to process and analyze the information. In addition, good transfer of training is realist when there are a couple of reinforcements during the process. This could be in terms of gifts and even promoting the best trainees of all.
