Question one The formatting of a resume is vital because it will facilitate faster understanding of the applicant. In ensuring that the information on the resume is presented in a systematic format, the applicant can present his job experience, preference, academic qualification and success making it possible for selection. Formatting improves information accessibility. Question three SWOT analysis involves the evaluation of the performance of the company in relation to the prevailing market. The analysis of the strength, opportunities, weakness and threats of the organization will help the manager to establish the position of the company. The understanding of the position of the company ensures that the marketing and communication strategy is developed to improve the performance of the business. For instance, if the competitors have ventured on the elderly population, the company may resort to developing products for the youths thus increasing organization performance. Question four The four function of management are planning, organizing, directing and controlling. Planning involves the establishment of the organization objectives and goals. In addition, planning involves the establishing of the resources and strategies to be employed in the process. Organizing involves setting the necessary daily functions. The daily functions include shifts and other related function such as the number employees to operate the various machines in the company. Directing involves the setting of the organization direction and motivation which are the integral issues in the function. Motivation can be done using the various motivational theories. Controlling involves the monitoring of the organization and ensuring that the company can achieve the success it stipulated in the organization objectives and goals. As a manager, the main challenge is on controlling and motivation of staff. Motivation affects productivity because it shapes individual performance. During my intern, I experienced motivational issues affecting the staff especially communication. Question five The book especially parts two and three have enabled me to understand the role of managers in education and development of the society. The role of managers is not managing alone but also encouraging innovation and learning in the organization and country. The performance of the country in terms of economy is dependent on the level of interaction between the education sector and labor demand. Question six The five type of resume include the master resume, chronological, targeted, and functional and combination. Master resume involves identification of the positions held in the last ten years including the skills and responsibilities. Chronological resumes list positions, skills responsibilities from the recent to the past job. Targeted resume is in chronological order but is tailored to fit a specific job. Functional resume are useful when entering a new field or career. Combination resume involves the inclusion of the various areas of expertise in the resume. Question 7 Administered, Evaluated, Executed, improved, increased, organized, oversaw, planned, prioritized, produced, recommended, reviewed, scheduled, strengthened and supervised Question 8 Formatting is essential for the cover letter because it ensures that the company can determine suitability of the candidate by evaluating the interests, experience and suitability. Cover letter responds to the advertisement given by the company. The company can compare the desired qualification against the candidates the best candidate can be accepted and called for interview. The sectioning of the cover letter is vital because it ensures that the qualification of the candidate is captured correctly by the organization. Therefore, the formatting of the cover letter is essential for job application. Question 9 Basic interview questions include question pertaining to desire to work in the organization. They include questions such as; why do you want to work with this organization? Behavioral questions involve questions on personal behaviors. It involves the illustration on how one solved a situation that involves emotions and event conflict. The behavioral interviews enabled the interviewers to be able to determine the temperaments of the candidate. They include questions such as; how do you handle a challenge? Give an example. They involve personal response to a situation or event that may be complex or emotive. Question 10 The dressing of the interviewee is vital because it portrays the character and presentation abilities. Office-wear involves being modest and presentable. For men, suits are preferable because it is the common standard dressing for men. For women, skirt suits and official trouser suits are suitable. However, the dressing code varies from country to country depending of the culture and the official dressing code presented. Question 11 When dressing for government job, the focus must be on conservative attire that depicts connection between the person and the countries culture. However, most of the countries have a standard dressing code that has been developed over the years. The most common dressing code is official suits which is applicable to all other areas. 12.
