She elaborated during the course of her talk that she had issues with the other companies she worked where she was told “, “You’re just a number. You can be replaced at any time.” And elaborated how important it is for her to be respected and being taken seriously and know that she is being valued as an employee. And reading between her lines, she talked in nostalgia, that it is missing in her workplace. To address this missing need, Shank’s boss must strive to make his presence felt among his employees particularly Shank. A regular visit to the store and striking friendly conversation with the employees will make Shank feel appreciated and valued as an employee. Especially when it is expressly told to Shank that it is not only her work that is being valued by the store but her person as well. That will definitely give a boost to Shank’s motivation.
