As a result, there is a need to establish AFS and make them stable to ensure they play a significant role in eradicating food insecurity and social economic and linked with Agro-industrial foods. Data generated in the AFS process are important because they help to understand food security and the importance of traditional food. This will help in the implementation of development strategies and planning. A disparity exists between consumers and producers within the local system and AFS. The disparities arise due to differences in interests, shared goals, and values about food systems.

Consumers' values are subjective and experiential, while producers’ concerns are related to material production costs and livelihood. Due to economic constraints, farmers involved in AFS source cheap labor from refugees and temporary seasonal workers in the EU. Such a source of labor for the AFS violates economic and social justice and this brings a challenge in how we value food systems. knowledge sharing between the global north and global south can be increased by analyzing and understanding export-oriented commodity crops and agriculture in the global south and social and economic goals of AFS.

Global south supports trade between consumers and producers to enhance AFS, as a result, it can teach Global North such strategies that will help in implementing AFS. The free market by ensuring there is the availability of food throughout the year and that prices are not determined by seasons. Consumers and producers have differences in interests, shared goals, and values about food systems. Consumers' values are subjective and experiential, while producers’ concerns are related to material production costs and livelihood.
