Societal Impact of Nonprofit Organizations I have several values which include compassion, honesty, and respect. This means that I have a strong sense of compassion in whatever do and this makes me achieve most of my goals. In addition, I am very honest and this makes it possible for me to deal with people since they can trust me for any deal. Finally, I know lie being respected and in return I respect people very much. My values have helped be build strong relationships with people around. There is need for creating opportunities for people in the black American society. For example, they need employment opportunities and also good health services. This is essential because these people have been sidelined for very long due to their color and backgrounds. Philanthropists are persons who the heart and the will to help the less fortunate in the society. Most of the known philanthropists are known to have a lot of money hence opting to carry out activities in the society aimed at developing the community. My favorite philanthropist is Ben Carson because of his inspirational teachings and stake in community based projects that he funds in many countries of the world. Nonprofit organizations play vital roles in the societies since they fight for the rights of the minority and the oppressed in the society. In most cases, they focus on provision of basic services to the less fortunate people in the society. These include the poor and the sick in the community. These organizations ensure that these people get proper medical services and food commodities. U.S. exports to Mexico The level of U.S. exports to Mexico is influenced by factors such as exchange rates and capital flow within the two countries. It is also affected by comparative advantage of products and prices of U. S. goods relative to other players in the market. Finally, government legislations play key roles in this trade, as well. U.S. imports from Mexico The level of U.S. imports from Mexico is influenced by factors such as exchange rates and capital flow within the two countries. It is also affected by comparative advantage of products and prices of Mexican goods relative to other players in the market. Finally, government legislations may be in favor or against imports depending with taxation laws (Gans, King and Mankiw 67). Underground economy jobs Underground economy includes incomes generated through illegal deeds. Examples of jobs that comprise underground economy are prostitution and gambling. In addition, there are legitimate jobs, which are cash based such as conducting auctioning through internet. Policy makers’ response to economic problems Policy makers take a lot of time to get information regarding economic issues, and by the time they acquire information, it may be too late for them to act. Secondly, legislators take a lot of time to develop laws aimed at improving economic conditions hence slowing their response to economic issues. For example, they may take a month to come up with legislations aimed at curbing inflation rates in their countries. Checking account balances Vs. Credit cards It requires people to have money in their bank accounts to be able to have checking account balances. In fact, this is concerned with actual money that can even be withdrawn. Credit cards are like short term loans where people are given money to facilitate their upkeep, and are expected to pay within a short time (Gans, King and Mankiw 67). Can there be any inflation without an increase in the money supply? How? Yes, inflation can occur when a local currency depreciates against other currencies in the market. This happens because the local currency loses its value hence making it difficult for people to afford basic commodities such as food. If market price is above equilibrium price, explain what happens and why? If the price is above equilibrium prices of commodities go up hence becoming unaffordable. This means that demand is of commodities decrease but supply is increases as producers take advantage of high prices of commodities. If market price is below equilibrium price, explain what happens and why? If the market price is below equilibrium price, demand for commodities goes up as consumers can buy many goods with very little money. However, supply declines as producers reduce their output to the markets due to low prices. As the price of theater tickets rises, what happens to the quantity of tickets that people are willing to buy? Explain your answer. When prices of tickets rises, the quantity of tickets that people are willing to buy remains high due to low turn up. This is because people opt to look for other entertainment joints due to un-affordability of the tickets. As the price of theater tickets rises, what happens to the quantity of tickets that people are willing to sell? Explain your answer. When prices of theater tickets rises, the quantity of tickets that people are willing to sell reduces. This is due to affordability that encourages people to sell tickets in order to get good deals. Where is a price ceiling with respect to equilibrium price? What will be the relative size of quantity demanded and quantity of supplied? Price ceiling is the highest level at which prices can rise above the equilibrium price. The relative quantity of commodities supplied and demand remains almost the same. However, the quantities remain quite low since people struggle to afford. How is the equilibrium price affected by changes in (a) demand and (b) supply? Changes in demand affect equilibrium prices in two ways. For example when demand is high prices tend to go up and vice versa. Likewise, supply of commodities affects equilibrium prices, as well. When supply is high, prices go down and vice versa. Explain the relationship between consumption and saving? Consumption and savings are related since one depends on the other. This means that when consumption is high, savings are low because people have very little to save. When the rate of consumption is low the rate of saving gets high. Explain the difference between autonomous consumption and induced consumption? Autonomous consumption is the consumption at a point where everybody affords basic commodities whereas induced consumption is one where people’s consumer behavior is influenced by other factors. Explain how the stock of consumer durables in the hands of the consumers and credit availability each affect the level of consumption. The stock of consumer durables in the hands of consumers and credit availability increase consumption. This is because people do not have to struggle to acquire commodities (Gans, King and Mankiw 67). Since the 1950s a massive shift in consumption patterns with respect to nondurable goods and services has taken place. What is this shift and how can it be explained?   People shifted to use of nondurable goods because they are cheap to purchase. People consider buying what they can afford at any particular time.
