Research is a key part of our heritage at Nestle and an essential element of our future. We know there is still much to discover about health, wellness, and the role of food in our lives, and we continue to search for answers to bring consumers good food for a good life” 

The mission statement of Nestle

“Nestle strives to be a leader in nutrition, health, and wellness, with the belief that good food is central to health and wellness. At the Nestle Research Center, nutrition research meets food innovation to bring consumers of all ages and stages of life, foods, and beverages that contribute to health and wellness, while offering remarkable taste and convenience” 

The more consumers continue to make food or beverage choices, Nestle is always available in such situations to assist in selection for everyone’s taste and lifestyle preferences. At Nestle, research is part of the key elements of the company’s heritage and is an essential component of the Company’s future. At Nestle, discoveries resolve to provide wellness, health, and the role of food in people’s lives. That is the reason we continue to hunt for more answers to bring consumers Good Food for Good Life. Nestle shows recognition of consumer’s sincere and legitimate interests in the Company’s beliefs, behaviors, and actions and as such, Nestle understands that without the customers the Company cannot exist. Nestle believes in general legislation of rule as is the most effective tool for safeguarding responsible conduct (Letmathe, 2004). However, additional staff guidance in the form of voluntary business principles is beneficial since it meets the highest standards throughout the organization. Nestle maintains a conscious fact that a corporation’s success reflects management and team member professionalism, responsible attitude, and ethical code of conduct.

The corporate values of Nestle display that this Company understands that the lifeblood of any firm lies within its employees. Employees gain satisfaction through the provision of opportunities that enable the gaining of new skills, receiving competitive salary packages, and achieving promotion in an individual value environment. Furthermore, Nestle depicts that it is aware that a business can succeed for a long through the creation of shareholder and societal value. Nestle refers to this as Creating Shared Value whereby the Company has made it part of its strategies. At Nestle, values and principles revolve around fairness, general concern for people as well as honesty. Through this Company’s code of conduct, the Company has established a set of non-negotiable behavior standards for all employees working at Nestle (Buckle, 2011). The Company’s corporate business Principles set forward the overall beliefs and commitments of this firm.

 In summary, Nestle has investment plans whereby the Company has recently appeared as an active player in emerging markets by acquiring stakes in two Chinese food companies. Nestle has a taste for international markets as according to Reuters, Nestle is looking globally for bolt-on acquisitions. As a result, it is stepping up investment in Russia while in its search for growth. Nestle has objectives that are compatible with the overall corporate objectives of the Company. The company’s marketing objective is to be the largest and best-branded food manufacturer globally. Moreover, the objectives strive to insure that Nestle's company name is synonymous with the highest quality products. In addition, Nestle's company goals state the achievement of compatibility with voluntary standards of international environmental management systems. Nestle has some weaknesses too. Following the stats of 2008, the food industry recorded 8.9 percent growth but this Company’s organic food sales lay flat due to a lack of potential. Additionally, Nestle has quite high logistics costs coupled with retailers’ inability to set high margins to expand the volume of sales (Anonymous).
