Dear Future Student,
I feel that you are really going to enjoy this course. I liked the fact that in this course I learned about the economic news we hear about every day. When I hear a news report that talks about GDP or the unemployment rate of a nation, I now understand what these things mean. I feel that I understand how many individual decisions in an economy are brought together as a whole. I feel as though I understand the news better since I have taken this class.
In this course, I also learned how the economy of an entire nation or region is studied. I learned that sometimes governments could play a big role in helping or hurting an economy. This was an exciting time to take this course because many of our discussions were about the state of the economy today. The global economic crisis is a very relevant study in macroeconomics.
My experience in working on the integrated project was challenging. I had a difficult time communicating exactly what I wanted to say at times. I studied a major international corporation (McDonald) for my project. I learned how macroeconomic conditions influence the decisions a big corporation has to make. I also clearly could see that large, multinational corporations are major players in a macroeconomic sense once they are firmly established in some nations.
If you want to succeed in this class, the best thing you can do is to learn the vocabulary and keep good notes on the different macroeconomic theories. Learn all you can about Keynes and use this as a reference point for comparing the other theories. If you can keep the theories and vocabulary words sorted out, you are going to be successful in this class. Read More

...Dear Mr. Orwell, After reading your essay 'Shooting an Elephant,' I decided I must write you, to respond from my perspective as an Antiguan woman. Perhaps these generic black letters on white paper is the only way two people as different as we are can communicate, for I cannot but think I would still be another native in the crowd in person. How did you feel such animosity towards the people of Moulmein The reason they could not riot against the English military was because you made sure they had no firearms. What were they to do, throw themselves in front of bullets These people you willingly policed each and every day had families to support under the subsistence of Colonial rule, and could not die in such an act of futility... Letter of Recommendation: My Future Opportunities

...Letter of Recommendation” Every person has certain hidden traits and a wise person is the one who identifies them and uses them. I am an individual who became aware of the bitter realities of life at the young age of eight, when sent away from the family due to poor political conditions of my native country. I started observing things around myself and kept a look at my future opportunities as I was solely responsible for my future. I learned to manage my time, resources and skills in a young age and was aware of the limitations that culture, financial shortages and religion placed. The time and resource management skills and the need to interact with people helped me in adopting the new trends and behaviours. Hence, my early life...

Overcrowding: A Reality of Cairos Past and Future

Crowding is not just a problem that concerns space; it also applies pressure of resources, space, and opportunity. Cairo’s efforts to manage its population is mirrored by a continental program in Africa that aims to decentralize commerce and industries by 2015 (Raychaudhuri 6). In 2005, the Egypt Human Development Report (EHDR) 2005 was published and tackled the problems that overcrowding has brought to the city: it cites that the disparity in resources, prospects and representation is a direct deterrent to the national goal of development for Egypt (United Nations Development Programme [UNDP] “Choosing our future: Towards a New Social Contract”, 5-6)

Crowding in urban areas is a problem that all major...

The Future of Education

Traditional methods of learning will slowly have major competition with the more advanced proprietary colleges. When this starts all older educational institutions will start to follow suit to compete with the advancement. This is when the educational system will really start to change from a teaching setup to a learning setup wherein the students will have the choice and control of choosing with whom they learn. Multimedia versions of the subject matter will be the course of the day replacing the traditional learning methods.
As we are aware schools are slowly taking a back seat where education is concerned and virtual classes are being preferred. This is unfortunate as it completely cuts out human interaction in the name of...

Women in American Politics: Past and Future Challenges

The official political role of women in the colonial period was not definite at all. Political rights were founded profoundly on ascribed status such as birthrights and on achieved status such as property. Religion also contributed in determining who could and could not play a part in politics. There was no steady and widespread difficulty in the participation of women in political life, yet only a small number of women voted in England and North American colonies, and hardly any women participated in politics to the degree of putting into effect political influence (ibid). In reality, the minority had any public office at all in England, and no women can be recognized as holding elective political office in the colonies.

Future Digital Design Process

As we shape up the interface between the designer and the virtual environment we are naturally going to produce a greater and far better outcome.
It will enable the end-user to be more creative and experimental and explore possibilities that were previously tedious or impossible. The design possibilities of virtuality will enhance the outlook of environments.
Now we can also term it according to the duration it can last. For any new thing, the duration is 10-30 years. If it lasts for 10 it would be popular as a tool another 10 and it would very well be a theory and if it survives all 30 years it will soon be defined as a revolution.
It was the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century that saw th...

Death Penalty: Does it Serve as a Deterrent to Future Crime

Animal instincts are directed towards self-preservation and it is the law of nature that a stronger and healthier individual has more chances of living than his weaker counterpart. The survival of the fittest has now been established as a ground reality according to Darwinian philosophy. If we eliminate our civilized thought process, it emerges as a stark reality that we would not desist from attacking another living person or animal when we are overcome by the basic needs of food, shelter, and clothing. In times of natural disasters like earthquakes, wars and floods, and manmade disasters like war, it is not uncommon to witness ravaged populations shedding the façade of civilization and resorting to violence in order to fu...

Freuds The Future of an Illusion

There is a need, however, to prove or disprove Freud’s contention against religion because to perpetuate that ‘illusion’ blindly without ascertaining its truth or falsity is living in hope under a lie. Fortunately, psychologists and historians, contemporary to and subsequent to Freud, had offered proofs and arguments against Freud’s sweeping generalization of religion pointing to its unsoundness and perhaps, falsity.

In his book The Future of an Illusion, Sigmund Freud referred to religion as an illusion. Illusion, according to him, is fundamentally underpinned by human wishes as opposed to an error being essentially a consequence of mistake (213). Religion is an illusion because it is founded up...

Future for Luxury Brand Retailers

A brand may be a design, a logo, a tagline, a name or a symbol that is intended to represent a company name and differentiate it from the other firms in the industry. Luxury brands are about giving customers exclusivity and uniqueness. They are brands that give a personal tinge to each of their products. Quelch and Jocz (2009) believe that luxury brands focus more on comfort, design, uniqueness and looks, and less on need and costs. This is because luxury brands are made for those who can afford to pay huge sums of money for just more satisfaction. A bag from Louis Vuitton or Gucci is as useful as any of the local, unbranded bags available in the market but elite customers would always go for the brand and not the mere use of the...

Conduct Becoming of a Lansing Student

It serves as their main source of guidance during confusing times and a reference for any questions that they may have regarding conducting themselves as a student both during and after class hours.
The reason behind the codebook is simple. The university or college has to pick up where the parents left off in the discipline and safety concerns of the child. The parents entrusted their prized possession, their children to the school so the school is now tasked to ensure the safety and continued development of the child both as an individual and a student.
